Position Summary

 

The Finance Systems and Governance team enables the Finance and Controllers organization to operate, record, report and manage financials. The team also enables all of PG&E in operational reporting and performance measurement. This involves the advisement toward business requirements gathering, conceptual design, end-user acceptance testing, end-user support, and guidance on the overall improvement / automation of applications used by Finance. These include SAP General Ledger, Blackline, PowerPlan, Fieldglass, Business Warehouse, Analysis for Office, PowerBI, and Business Planning and Consolidations (BPC).

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and in-person at the Oakland General Office 1-2x weekly, on average, or based on business needs and company requirements.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

 

A reasonable salary range is:

 

Bay Area Minimum: $129,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $207,000.00

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Ensures the successful implementations of new or enhanced applications are performed on time, to scope, and within budget.
  • Provides Finance with application services that include opportunity identification, requirements gathering, functional specifications, and user acceptance testing.
  • Develops and manages service level agreements with finance and business finance partners.
  • Establishes individual and department objectives that are aligned with organizational goals. Implements PG&E practices for staffing, EEO, diversity, performance management, development, in addition to reward and recognition.
  • Ensures staff has the resources and skills needed to maintain day-to-day operations while balancing enhancement requests.
  • Ensure compliance to standards / regulations and governance processes.
  • Manage employees for the most efficient delivery of services.
  • Work collaboratively to build relationships and partner effectively.
  • Develops, prioritizes, coordinates and communicates the goals and processes necessary for efficiently managing day-to-day operations and successful delivery of approved enhancements.
  • Assess and recommend application design or enhancements to ensure effective use and usefulness.
  • Directly manage a team of four or more direct reports, including mentoring and development.
  • Provides guidance to direct reports in the process of researching and resolving issues.
  • Set department goals and establish an environment to achieve those goals.
  • Ensure team is adequately staffed

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent work experience
  • 8 years of experience within a Finance System operations and maintenance environment, including previous experience managing staff and programs.

 

Desired:

 

  • Masters Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting
  • Implementation of process improvement
  • Development and maintenance of reports
  • Product deployment
  • Change management
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP, especially finance and cost accounting modules
  • Understanding of PG&E cost model
  • Understanding of FERC/regulatory accounting
  • Ability to multi-task, make decisions and meet deadlines
  • Able to present highly complex data and findings to internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven track record developing and presenting end-user training in a group setting
  • Ability to synthesize research and provide perspective and develop Finance and system implications for the company
  • Ability to evaluate potential opportunities and challenges
