Department Overview

 The Wildfire Risk Organization is responsible for assisting the company to act decisively and transparently to prevent fires of consequence from being caused by our equipment.  The organization will develop objectives to 1) prevent fires of consequence originating from our equipment; 2) meet all commitments outlined in our Wildfire Mitigation Plan; 3) continue to foster trusted relationships with key stakeholders; and 4) develop consistent processes and work standards through the implementation of the Lean Operating System for sustainable operations.

 

Position Summary

Provides an infrastructure, enabling Line of Business (LOB) departments and employees to conduct business in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and/or appropriately understand and manage risk across the organization. Ensures employees have a clear understanding of compliance requirements, ensures work processes incorporate guidance and other controls, and conducts compliance-related reviews and root cause analyses, as needed, to ensure controls are effective. Partners with Subject Matter Experts (SME), Requirement/Risk Owners, and business SMEs to develop controls, and metrics to hold the assigned owners accountable for compliance and/or risk management performance. Supports change management, training, and communication of compliance standards, processes & results. 

  • This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

 

Bay Minimum: $132,000
Bay Maximum: $226,000

 

&/OR

 

CA Minimum: $125,000
CA Maximum: $215,000

 

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 
 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Client Partnership: Works collaboratively with peers and partner organizations and divisions to develop and implement new or improved processes, controls and procedures to improve program compliance, efficiencies and customer satisfaction
  • Monitoring compliance: Regularly review business practices and operations to identify potential compliance risks, including reviewing work execution practices and documentation 
  • Internal/ External audits and assessments: Conduct periodic internal audits to assess compliance with established policies and regulations, identifying areas for improvement. Lead team to respond to regulatory data requests, investigations, audits and other inquiries. 
  • Reporting and communication: Communicate compliance risks and findings to senior management, including regular reports on compliance status
  • Liaising with external stakeholders: Collaborate with legal counsel, regulatory agencies, and auditors to address compliance concern
  • Compliance and Risk Management (CRM) Reviews: Manages and conducts work process compliance reviews . Develops self- assessment guidance, providing appropriate tools. Assists with root cause analysis and action planning development and monitoring.
  • Governance and Oversight: Provides governance and oversight over PG&E’s Priority A notifications. Develops monthly reporting on compliance health. 
  • Provides direct supervision, staffing, training, coaching and mentoring to the Compliance Specialists. Assigns, prioritizes, and reviews project work, project initiatives, and special assignments as needed
     

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Mathematics, Engineering or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 8 years
  • Ability to travel up to 40 percent of working time

 

Desired:

 

  • Masters Degree in Business Administration or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience in operations, or related
  • Utility industry experience, or related
  • Record of Professional Auditor training completion
  • LSS-Lean Six Sigma Certification
  • Strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations within the industry 
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate compliance risks 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex compliance issues to various stakeholders 
  • Detail-oriented approach to ensure thorough review of processes and documentation 
  • Leadership abilities to guide teams and promote a culture of compliance
