Department Overview:

The Enterprise Protection Data and Analytics Business Intelligence & Operations (EPDA BIO) team is part of Information Technology’s Enterprise Protection Data and Analytics (EPD&A) organization that manages the business operations for Cybersecurity, Corporate Security Enterprise Data Management (EDM), Data Science (DS) and Data Analytics and Insights functions within PG&E.

 

Position Summary

The main role of the EPD&A BIO Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for the financial and planning analysis supporting the EDM and DS departments.  This role includes reducing financial risk by providing actionable and insightful data to enable the business in this changing technological landscape by supporting financial, headcount, metric, and reporting.

 

The BA is viewed as an integral strategic partner and business liaison in assisting and collaboration in decision making that impacts Data team decisions. In addition, this role is responsible for financial reporting, analyzing, and providing recommendations on the alternative solutions, project strategy and headcount governance for the EPD&A organization. Analyzes business needs, defines detailed requirements, and validates solutions with our internal and external partners.

 

The position is a hybrid role, defined as 0-4 days in office or as business needs require. This position will need to be located within the PG&E service territory.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.  

 

A reasonable salary range is:​

 

Bay Area Minimum:  $82,000  

Bay Area Maximum: $124,000

California Minimum:$78,000

California Maximum:$118,000

 

Job Responsibilities

Business Analysis:

  • Responsible for Financial Planning Analysis and Reporting for the Data department, which includes monthly variance analysis, forecasting and metrics & reporting
  • Responsible for annual operating planning process
  • Responsible with resource planning for project and baseline activities utilizing headcount and contractor management governance
  • Assistance in streamlining operational processes and procedures

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Accounting or other relevant discipline or 4 years of equivalent job-related experience
  • Proficient with Excel and other Microsoft products
  • Proficient with PowerBI
  • Job-related experience, 2 years

Desired:

 

  • The ability to think in terms of a strategy; to abstract from detail of daily tasks to a long-term plan and vision.
  • Uses expertise to counsel or guide individuals in problem resolution; participates in research and analysis.
  • Working experience in the Utility industry

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Detail oriented, analytical, good oral and written communication skills.
  • General understanding of the utility business and at least one functional area of the related Line of Business.
  • Able to work independently and support others within the group to persuade, exchange ideas and foster cooperation
