Position Summary 

  • ES&A Innovation and Operations team is seeking a talented and motivated developer to join our innovative team. We are currently focused on building Generative AI applications. You will have opportunities to work on the frontend user experience and backend APIs, data pipeline, and LLMs. 

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and the Oakland General Office in-person based on business needs. 

  

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.   

  

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $35.09 to $52.40.   

 

 

Job Responsibilities 

 

  • Develop, test, and deploy Generative AI systems to address various business challenges. 

  • Create intuitive user experiences and visually appealing user interfaces. 

  • Build pipelines for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources. 

  • Build pipelines for optimal vectorization of embeddings for Generative AI applications. 

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest development trends and technologies. 

 

Qualifications 

Minimum: 

 

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field of study, or equivalent experience. 

 

Desired: 

 

  • Internship or project experience in Generative AI development. 

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. 

  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript, and ReactJS. 

  • Proficiency in Python. 

  • Experience working with LLMs (e.g., GPT-4, Claude), libraries (e.g. LangChain, OpenAI APIs), and agentic frameworks (e.g. LangGraph, PydanticAI, LlamaIndex).  

  • Experience with relational and vector databases (e.g. PostgreSQL).  

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues.
