Department Overview

The Project Governance team within Enterprise Project Governance is responsible for facilitating the project charter development and approval processes for major projects and programs (MPPs, total cost estimates ≥ $25M)

 

Position Summary

The Expert Analyst will work on a team dedicated to providing project management organizations with quality guidance, templates, and tools as they prepare major project authorization requests for review and approval. The team facilitates the decision-making process for all Major Projects and Programs (MPPs) across PG&E, including MPPs which require approval by the Board of Directors (total cost estimates ≥ $250M). The Analyst will work directly with directors, managers, and project teams to help them develop quality project charters, project updates, and project closure information for the Gate Review Board (prior PRT); significant writing and editing is required.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and the Oakland General Office(OGO)1-2 days a week.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.  

 

A reasonable salary range is:​

 

Bay Area Minimum:   $118,000

Bay Area Maximum:  $153,000   

 

Job Responsibilities

·  Contributes to establishing standards and drives improvement within existing processes.

·  Manage processes and input data on team tools (Project Charter template, input data from outcome of Project Charter/close approvals, project/program reporting, update project/program database, Unifier approval system, etc.).   

·  Provides recommendations to senior management and extended leadership with supporting analysis.

·  May manage cross-functional projects or initiatives.

·  Interacts and consults with multiple departments and business partners.

·  Assist with the development of Board and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) Reporting: Assist in preparing quarterly capital project reporting package for Board review and SLT review

·  Support and potentially lead various ad hoc initiatives and projects, as required (past examples: delegation of authority, approval procedures, contingency and reauthorization analyses, cost estimating improvement, etc.)

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

·  Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline) or equivalent work experience

·  Six years job-related experience, preferably at a utility or in the energy industry

·  Experience in analysis, job-related

·  Advanced skills in Microsoft Office apps (e.g., Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, MS Access, Power BI), and SAP

 

Desired:

·  Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or equivalent experience

·  Project Management Professional Certification and/or four years’ experience in project management

·  Job-related experience, 8 years

·  Utility industry experience

·  Experience in consulting
