Department Overview

The hardworking coworkers of Electric Engineering ensure all manners of electric engineering—including electric standards and process safety, electric design engineering, instrumentation testing and controls, undergrounding, electric regulatory compliance and electric investment planning—are in place to safely enable a strategic and stable workplan for our Electric Operations partners. Our organization is accountable for program planning, financial budgeting, and project execution and delivery of all electric engineering projects. Electric Engineering is comprised of approximately 2,000 coworkers. 

 

Position Summary

Manages aspects of program implementation and operations. Ensures program is operating effectively.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be Oakland or Pleasanton.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
 
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $129,000
Bay Area Maximum: $207,000

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Applies broad expertise and advanced knowledge to wide-ranging issues.
  • May act as a team lead and provide direction to less experienced employees.
  • Works with Sr. Directors, Directors, Managers and frontline employees across functions to influence decisions and actions.
  • Communicates complex ideas to diverse audiences using a variety of media. 
  • Integrates industry knowledge related to data into everyday business practices and decision making.
  • Provides others with guidance around complex industry regulatory and compliance environment and considerations.
  • Creates new and complex data models to facilitate business decisions.
  • Provides direction on overall program.
  • Performs in-depth quality assurance final reviews and contract drafts. 
  • Develops new or revises existing scopes of work to ensure compliance standards and deliverables are established. 
  • Acts as a change agent during the deployment of projects and changed or new guidance.
  • Manages projects using the Plan/Do/Check/Act (PDCA) methodology.
  • Works effectively with stakeholders to resolve issues and drive project success. 
  • Contributes to process improvements, documentation, metrics, management of change and change management efforts.
  • Leads and facilitates Governance Committee meetings 
  • Implement Lean methodology.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 8 years

 

Desired:

  • Masters Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification
  • 10 years of related experience or equivalent
  • Ability to use understanding of the business to help drive strategic decision making, and to recommend operational improvements
  • Ability to lead the largest most complex projects across the line of business supported (i.e. Customer Care, Human Resources, etc.)
  • Deep knowledge and expertise of business and or industry drivers
  • Ability to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs
  • Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact
  • Experience implementing Lean methods
