The SAP Finance Delivery organization provides SAP IT services to the business units. The organization is responsible for strategic technology planning, roadmap development, solution design, solution delivery, and solution support. 

 

Position Summary

The role Expert SAP Programmer Analyst is to design, develop, test and maintain SAP enhancements and functionalities - all modules.

 

The Programmer Analyst Expert gather business requirements, creates functional design documents, and design and develop programs/reports/enhancements to provide system solutions for the Line of Business and IT organizations. This role is viewed as an integral strategic partner and business liaison in technology decisions and provides ongoing SAP/Non-SAP system support. This includes analyzing business requirements and developing integrated IT and complex business solutions.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $129,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $204,000.00

&/OR

California Minimum: $123,000.00

California Maximum: $197,000.00

 

This position requires at least 3 days in-person in office. Working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

 

Job Responsibilities

Client Support:

  • Understand major areas of the client’s business environment and effectively identify current and future business needs
  • Design, develop, modify, debug and evaluate the application programs for the business areas
  • Assignment will be a mix of Projects, Enhancements, and Production Support
  • Analyze existing applications and systems and formulate logic for new systems and procedures
  • Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis as defined in the IT Methodology, in collaboration with business analyst and other project team members
  • Prepares and obtains approval of system and development documentation
  • Anticipate client concerns and questions and provide timely, professional, straight forward (non-technical) communications
  • Provide on call support for production systems and provide timely solutions
  • Respond to ad-hoc questions and intra-departmental communications.


Maintenance:

  • Participate in defect management process, set priorities, research issues, and discuss compliance impacts and timelines
  • Support bug fixes, patches, minor enhancements, and service requests
  • Incident Response and end user support – Provide Level 3 support to the IT Help desk. Help with issue resolution
  • Interact with third party interface providers for end-to-end solution support

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, Engineering, etc. or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of programming experience in SAP ABAP/4, Adobe Forms, Smart Forms, EDI
  • Proven knowledge with programming principals to enhance system performance
  • Multiple programming languages experience
     

Desired:

  • 5+ years of experience designing interfaces from SAP to non-SAP external systems
  • Work experience in SAP Gateway/ODATA development
  • Experience in configuration of SAP Gateway Services
  • Good experience with SAP UI5 / Fiori and in building analytical applications, transactional applications for both mobile and desktops
  • Understanding how HANA works and its impact on developing applications, using SQL in ABAP
  • ABAP CDS Views
  • Knowledge of RESTful ABAP Programming model and experience in development on Suite on HANA
  • Good experience in consuming exposing webservices ( i.e. SOAP / REST ) and BOPF framework
  • Interpersonal skills: strong presentation/ communication / facilitation/ leadership skills (oral and written)
  • Hands on experience with HANA Cloud platform technologies like SAP Cloud platform integration, API Management cloud and open connectors
  • Experience with data modelling leveraging HANA information models.  Hands on experience with code push down techniques like AMDP and CDS table functions
  • SAP Cloud Platform and its tools: Web IDE, Cloud Portal, CPI, API Management, HANA XSA development
  • Experience with data transfer and interfacing tools such as BDC, ALE, BAPI, EDI, RFC, PI, SAP Connector
  • SAP S4 HANA Migration Experience
  • Help internal teams develop an agile, future-ready architecture and integrated ecosystem
