Department Overview

The Distributed Generation team oversees PG&E’s Distributed Generation programs including premium renewable energy rates such as Solar Choice, other complex rates related to battery storage systems, as well as incentive programs to increase the availability of DG in disadvantaged communities, such as SOMAH and DAC SASH. This role will focus on customer-owned Meter Socket Adapters as a growing enabler of lower-cost electrification and resilience. The team interacts regularly with regulators, vendors, and industry experts. We also collaborate extensively with other departments in PG&E to support and enhance the DG customer experience and proactively drive new policies; those partners include Information Technology (IT), Billing, Pricing Products, Electric Grid Interconnection, the Customer Contact Center, Customer Service, Field Metering, Meter Engineering, Distribution Planning, Solutions Marketing and Customer Communication, Energy Policy and Procurement, Law and Regulatory Affairs.

 

Position Summary

As an Expert-level Program Manager, the successful candidate will lead the operations of PG&E’s Meter Socket Adapter program including the facilitation of installations and managing the testing and evaluation process of new devices. The candidate will be responsible for regulatory compliance, program financials and coordination and communication with internal, external and other IOU partners.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory and will be agreed upon by the successful candidate and hiring leader.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum: $122,000

Bay Area Maximum: $194,000

California Minimum: $116,000

California Maximum: $184,000

 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Meter Socket Adapter program including management of customer escalations, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and internal coordination.
  • Define strategic plans related to meter socket adapter technology
  • Coordinate with key partners in Field Metering, Metering Services & Engineering, EGI and Distribution Planning and other IOUs
  • Lead testing, evaluation, and field pilots for new Meter Socket Adapter technologies
  • Communicate program strategies and objectives clearly and concisely
  • Refine and document operational processes for this rapidly growing program
  • Perform market intelligence to assess emerging meter socket adapter technology and business/scalability impacts to PG&E
  • Develop and maintain KPIs and dashboards to report out on program progress and accomplishments
  • Communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences
  • Work closely with subject matter experts and leaders to resolve issues and customer escalations
  • Continuously improve the customer experience

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 8 years of related experience

 

Desired:

  • Experience in program management, project management, and/or account management or similar
  • Proven ability to learn complex and nuanced programs and communicate technical information in a user-friendly way
  • Demonstrated excellence at leading multiple cross-functional teams and projects and achieving results
