Department Overview
Pacific Gas and Electric Company's Marketing department is responsible for the planning, development and execution of innovative marketing strategies that drive positive customer experiences and participation with PG&E products and program offerings. This includes safety and emergency preparedness, residential and business rate education, energy efficiency, income qualifying programs, clean energy, transportation electrification, decarbonization and a variety of other initiatives designed to help customers manage and achieve their sustainability and climate goals.
Overview of Position
In this role, you will bring energy and creativity to developing and implementing customer focused marketing strategies that connect people with the financial assistance and bill management programs they rely on. You will help support meaningful, community centered engagement efforts that inspire participation and deepen trust with the customers we serve.
You will collaborate closely with Marketing and Communications, Program Managers, Customer Insights, and Customer Service to deliver best in class campaigns that reach eligible customers, elevate awareness, and drive enrollment and participation. Together, you will create seamless, impactful experiences across a wide range of customer support programs.
The role is hybrid working from your remote office and in-person at the Oakland General Office typically for team meetings or operating reviews. This can scale up or down depending on business needs or company requirements. Additionally, this role will provide support at various community-based events primarily located in the Bay Area, and on some occasions may include working weekends. Lastly, the role will serve on the EOC rotation, providing Emergency Response Support as outlined in the primary responsibilities below.
Primary Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Campaign Execution
- Develop and implement integrated marketing, education, and outreach plans that drive customer participation in assistance programs.
- Manage end to end campaign execution—including planning, targeting, creative development, launch, optimization, and performance tracking.
- Monitor KPIs and analytics to assess campaign effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Maintain ongoing budget tracking and forecasting for program marketing efforts.
- Travel to Oakland for team meetings as needed.
Cross Functional Collaboration & Project Management
- Serve as the central hub coordinating Program teams, Operations, Legal, Customer Experience, Customer Service, Customer Insights, and Marketing Communications.
- Facilitate campaign planning discussions, align priorities, and address roadblocks with both internal teams and external agencies, such as community-based organizations.
- Lead project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication to ensure on time, high quality execution.
Creative Development & Agency Management
- Develop clear, strategic creative briefs that align with program goals and customer needs.
- Oversee external agencies and partners in producing creative assets for print, digital, media, social, and direct to customer channels.
- Manage rounds of creative review, consolidate stakeholder feedback, and ensure final materials meet program, marketing, and brand standards.
Performance Reporting & Regulatory Support
- Lead development of dashboards, presentations, and reports for senior leadership, internal teams, and regulatory filings.
- Support California Public Utilities Commission reporting requirements and responding to data requests.
- Communicate campaign results, insights, and opportunities in clear, compelling formats.
Community Engagement Support
- Work in collaboration with community outreach teams and community organizations to align activities with marketing initiatives.
- Strengthen connections between Marketing, Income Qualified Programs, and community partners to reach underserved customer groups.
- Travel as needed to other locations such as San Jose, Stockton, Sacramento, or San Ramon.
Emergency Response Support
- Serve as part of the company’s emergency response team during high visibility events.
- Provide quick turn communications guidance and customer messaging during Emergency Operations Center activations (may require occasional afterhours or weekend work).
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Business or related fields or equivalent work experience
- 6 years of experience managing the development and delivery of marketing campaigns, defining strategic objectives, and measuring performance
Desired:
- Demonstrated experience with vendor management
- Advanced communication skills with ability to write original content for marketing and communication materials, and business presentations
- Proven ability to foster trust and collaborative partnerships with colleagues and internal stakeholders
- Experience working in low income, non-profit, community organizations, environmental, or energy-related fields
- Foreign language proficiency and ability to speak with fluency
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Experience in consumer marketing
- Advanced analytical and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
Compensation
PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
