Department Overview

The Electric Engineering team ensure all manners of electric engineering — including electric standards and process safety, electric asset planning, electric risk ownership, electric asset strategy and management, design engineering, instrumentation testing and controls, undergrounding, electric regulatory compliance and electric investment planning — are in place to safely enable a strategic and stable workplan for our Electric Operations partners. Our organization is accountable for program planning, financial budgeting, and project execution and delivery of all electric engineering projects.

 

Position Summary

Coordinates and assembles the multi-year work plan for Electric Operations (EO). Collaborates with Asset Management and Transmission and Distribution Operations to develop the EO Strategy Plan (S2) to ensure the work and resource plans align with the budget plan (S1) request and links appropriately to the regulatory recovery process. Monitors execution of the work plan. Partners with the EO Business Finance team to monitor and reallocate budget between the various programs and maintain an overall view of budget performance.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory. Frequent travel to Dublin and Oakland is required. 

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
 
A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $118,000
Bay Area Maximum: $188,000

OR

California Minimum: $112,000

California Maximum: $179,000

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads peers and stakeholders in Asset Management and Customer Service Delivery to develop a prioritized and optimized long range and annual work plan portfolio, supported by a strategic, balanced annual resource plan.
  • Leads, tracks and reports on work progression. Derives key messages from work progression reporting and communicates necessary actions to stakeholders.
  • Evaluates the associated costs and resources needed to execute work plans. Establishes a baseline strategic approach to work plan execution. Develops new reports as needed to refine work plan portfolio and execution analysis.
  • Supports the development of contingency plans to assure work readiness if work and financial plans require adjustment and recommends adjustments as necessary.
  • Identifies issues such as actual cost or resource data outside of plan.  Investigates to determine cause of variance, reaches out to stakeholders and makes recommendations actions to correct.
  • Organizes and leads cross functional stakeholder meetings.
  • Leads and partners with peers and stakeholders to develop integrated work plans, project plan updates and presentation materials for regular work and budget meetings.
  • Leads and participates on special initiatives project teams as work planning subject matter expert. 

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, business administration or comparable quantitative field or equivalent related work experience
  • 6 years of relevant work experience with steady progression of responsibilities

 

Desired:

  • Utility industry experience, or related
  • Analytical skills, comfortability building models, working with large data sets
  • Experience with SAP/Analysis for Office
  • Creating visual management, comfortability working in PowerPoint or other data visual management tools
  • Experience presenting data to Directors/Middle to upper leadership
  • WMP/BPD experience
