The Finance and Analytics business technology organization provides IT services to Electric, Gas, Generation and Supply Chain lines of businesses. The organization is responsible for strategic technology planning, roadmap development, solution design and delivery.
Position Summary
The Expert ERP Functional Analyst SAC is responsible for the development of IT solutions for PG&E Finance and Analytics and is well versed with all phases of the system lifecycle, including business process analysis, systems analysis, business process blueprinting, configuration, development, testing, cut-over preparation, end user training, and go-live activities as well as post go-live system and end user support. In this critical role, you will play a key part in driving the successful implementation and utilization of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) within our organization. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement innovative solutions that streamline financial planning and analysis processes.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $126,000.00
Bay Area Maximum: $200,000.00
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
This new teammate needs to be able come to Pacific Gas and Electric Company's Oakland headquarters 3 days a week, since all project team is here in person Tuesday to Thursday.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert consulting in SAP SAC to the client to identify and satisfy the business needs.
- Responsible for solution design and implementation involving SAP SAC Finance along with other IT applications.
- Analyze complex end-to-end business processes and information needs of the clients in one or more business functional areas (may include external entities).
- Partner with business team, technical analysts, architecture and strategy organizations to develop strategies and plans to integrate SAP into total solutions.
- Evaluate and document alternatives that will provide the most effective solutions to complex business problems.
- Design system processes to bridge the gap, build prototype, prepare functional specifications, prepare test plan and test scripts.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, support user acceptance testing (UAT) and obtain business sign-off.
- Provide SAP subject matter expertise to PG&E lines of business and ensure the best practices are adopted.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) solutions for financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Support the transformation of FP&A processes, migrating legacy systems to SAP Analytics Cloud for Planning (SAC Planning).
- Provide deep expertise in financial planning processes, including Revenue Planning, COGS Planning, Workforce Planning, Capital Expense Planning, Project Planning, and Operating Expense Planning.
- Partner with FP&A project leads and process owners to define forecasting objectives for business outcomes and user experience.
- Translate FP&A strategic direction and business objectives into holistic SAC Planning capabilities that enable financial forecasting and analysis requirements across projects, departments, locations, and accounts.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with business stakeholders, systems developers, and other key stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Facilitate process and system improvement opportunities and implement enhancements and changes to support finance process and reporting requirements.
- Build robust planning and reporting capabilities within the SAP/SAC environment.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines and deliver SAP/SAC planning projects successfully.
- Manage day-to-day delivery workstreams, driving alignment between business needs and SAC Planning solutions.
- Provide regular status updates to project leadership and actively participate in risk and issue resolution.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- BA/BS in Computer Science/ Information Systems, Business Finance, Accounting, etc. or equivalent work experience
- 7 years of designing, configuring and developing complex SAC Planning Models, Data actions, Value Driver, Analytical Applications and Stories
- Strong understanding of ERP interrelationships and dependencies of related modules and systems

- Proficient in writing requirements documents, functional specifications and preparing business process flows
- Conform to IT methodology Application change and delivery
- At least two full life-cycle implementations of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
- Strong understanding of SAC planning functionalities, including data modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting
- Proven experience leading SAC solutions as a product owner, technical client service lead, or lead solution consultant
- Highly hands-on with SAC technical - Data Integration, Modeling, Data action scripting, Versioning, Distribution, tasks, and optimization techniques
- Advanced knowledge and expertise in SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
- Proven ability to work creatively and effectively in a problem-solving environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
