Business Unit: Engineering, Planning & Strategy
Work Type: Hybrid
Job Location: Oakland
Department Overview
The Clean Energy Transportation (CET) group is focused on accelerating the adoption of clean vehicles in California and has an ambitious goal of electrifying 3 million vehicles by 2030. CET leads a ~$0.6B portfolio of transportation electrification (TE) programs to increase the adoption of clean vehicles in California as we work to address one of the largest contributors to climate change – and we need a motivated, organized strategic thinker to help us expand this portfolio. We serve PG&E’s customers by deploying electric vehicle programs to increase access to charging infrastructure, reduce total cost of electric vehicle ownership, educating our customers and pursuing innovative strategies to unlock additional benefits to EV drivers and the grid.
Team Overview:
PG&E believes that if properly managed, EVs can provide a quadruple value stack of reliability, resiliency, affordability, and lower GHG emissions for the grid and for our customers. The first step in achieving that vision is facilitating the transition to electric vehicles for our customers by simplifying the process, educating customers on the benefits of EVs, and connecting customers to available resources and incentives. CET’s EV Customer Programs team manages a robust portfolio of EV programs and contributes to the overarching strategy for finding solutions to customer barriers to EV adoption.
Position Summary
CET’s EV Fleet Advisory Services (EV FAS) program is focused on guiding commercial and municipal customers through their transportation electrification (TE) journey and provides a centralized point of contact within PG&E. EV FAS covers a wide breadth of TE topics, including site selection, fleet electrification planning, rate selection, load management, and vehicle to grid integration. The advisors serve as subject matter experts to enable the electrification of medium- and heavy-duty fleet vehicles. The Business Development Specialist will lead efforts to connect existing fleet managers and operators to EV FAS, accelerating program uptake and EV adoption.
The Business Development Specialist will support the larger EV FAS program by developing strategic outreach and engagement efforts, serving as the public face of the program at events, and developing key relationships to drive lead generation.
The successful candidate will:
- Establish a robust business development pipeline through industry engagement, external marketing efforts, event attendance, and strategic communications.
- Lead internal coordination for marketing, engagement, and outreach efforts with PG&E’s Business Energy Solutions, Marketing, Communications, Public Affairs, and IT teams, in addition to coordinating externally with contractors, key stakeholders, and customers.
- Be an advocate for medium- and heavy-duty fleet electrification and EV adoption more generally.
The role is classified as hybrid (0-3 days per week in office), working primarily from your remote office and in-person in the Oakland General Office to attend team meetings or as business needs require. The role will also require significant travel throughout PG&E’s service territory to attend events and engage with stakeholders in person.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
