Department Overview

The Information & Records Governance (IRG) organization is an enterprise-wide program advancing the information and records management maturity of the company and Functional Areas (FA) through implementation of compliant, efficient, and systematic controls for the creation, receipt, maintenance, use, and disposition of information and records. IRG is responsible for transforming PG&E’s information and records management practices to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, reduce risk, and promote safe and effective business operations. IRG is responsible for policy, strategy, and guidance for information and records assets, and for monitoring compliance and supporting development of consistent and integrated processes that promote the responsible management of the information lifecycle to further PG&E’s immediate and future regulatory, legal, and operational requirements. 

 

Position Summary

The Expert, Data Analyst, will report to the Supervisor, Electronic Content and Disposition, and will manage information governance related data and analytics projects from initial request to presentation of data results. Types of tasks and projects may include: 

  • Manages very complex data extracts and list pulls ensuring data accuracy, creating dashboards and tracking tools using Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate. 
  • Provides new and innovative solutions and recommendations to enhance database(s) and Power Platform applications with new data sources and improved data processes. 
  • Demonstrates and utilizes broad expertise in data processing, data analysis and applies this knowledge to a number of different issues. 
  • Develop comprehensive reports and communicates clear, concise and actionable data analysis for clients. Develop innovative solutions using available tools (e.g., solutions and applications using the Power Platform) 
  • Acts as team lead and provides direction to less experienced employees. 

 

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of and experience with data analysis concepts and techniques, as well as advanced knowledge of PowerBI, Power Apps, and Power Automate. The candidate must be an advocate for safety and will help PG&E mitigate risk by leveraging the skills and experience of a diverse team to focus on the successful delivery and maintenance of the Information & Records Governance program.  

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business needs or company requirements. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory and will be agreed upon by the successful candidate and hiring leader.

 

PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint <$Min - $Mid of the range>. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

 

Bay Area Min: $126,000

Bay Area Mid: $163,000

Bay Area Max: $200,000

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, build and deploy large-scale Power Platform / Power Apps solutions for enterprise audiences 
  • Perform analysis on the most complex data models that have cross-functional impact 
  • Develop complex data systems that have wide ranging impact and application across multiple departments 
  • Manage and lead projects or initiatives regarding mobile technology, databases, dashboards, metrics, and/or data sets 
  • Manage complex data sets with extreme accuracy 
  • Develop new and innovative technical documentation tools, processes and methods 
  • May act as a team lead, coach or mentor to develop employees 
  • Perform SharePoint site management including updates to pages and content 
  • Develop and manage reporting dashboards (Power BI) 
  • Perform analysis of data and/or processes in support of various workstreams; includes metrics gathering and reporting 
  • Develop and implement project planning, status reporting, and scheduling for small to large projects 
  • Participate in the development and ongoing maintenance of the Information & Records Governance Framework, including Records Inventory, retention schedule, and the preservation or destruction of records  
  • Establish and maintain cross-functional working relationships within the IRG organization, the functional area, and with key business partners throughout PG&E to provide guidance in researching and resolving records issues 
  • Develop and deliver presentations, training and other educational materials using various communication methods (in-person, e-mail, phone, collaborative sites, presentations, etc.) 
  • Travel within PG&E service territory (as needed) 

 

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline; or equivalent experience 
  • 6 years of related work experience

 

Desired

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent experience. 
  • Experience in utility operations. 
  • Certification in data analytics or business information processes and tools. 
  • Knowledge of records management, information governance, and/or data management. 
  • Ability to manage and drive multiple projects, track timelines, stakeholders and deliverables and report on status 
  • Knowledge and experience with the Power Platform (Power Apps and Power Automate) with extensive experience with large builds 
  • Knowledge and experience with Power BI or other analytics and dashboard tools 
  • Ability to rapidly gain/build trust and confidence of internal and external stakeholders 
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge in technical/professional concepts 
  • Experience in process improvement, business process mapping, and the lean suite of tools 
  • Expert in Microsoft Office Suite of products 
  • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and influence skills 
  • Presentation skills; ability to deliver technical training
