Position Summary
The Expert Compute, Operating Systems(OS), and Hardware Product Owner will guide cross-functional Agile teams in delivering secure, scalable, and business-aligned OS, security hardening, and configuration management solutions. This role will translate product strategy into clear requirements, create product roadmaps, manage KPIs, leads asset management plan for Compute, OS, compute and configuration management products, manage and prioritize the product backlog, support delivery planning, and partner closely with business, engineering, operations, cyber, and product stakeholders to maximize value across enterprise technology initiatives.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland, CA once per week, or more, based on business needs or company requirements.
Job Responsibilities

Lead Scrum teams as the Product Owner, ensuring alignment among business priorities, product strategy, and delivery execution.

Identifies the developmental needs of resources and coaches and mentors resources to improve their knowledge or skills.

Analyzes work plans and schedules to reallocate resources or reprioritize program work.

Provide vision and direction to Agile development teams and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.

Maintain a healthy, well-groomed backlog of prioritized work for the delivery team.

Own complex and major release planning and set clear expectations for delivery of new functionality.

Understand business pain points, desired outcomes, and value drivers to clearly articulate product value.

Communicate effectively with executive, business, functional, and technical stakeholders.

Serve as a bridge between business, product, and engineering teams to support shared understanding, vendor strategies, and evaluations.

Own BPD planning and support alignment between planning activities and delivery outcomes.

Drive and develop implementation plans and establish teams to introduce new hardware, OS and Configuration Management technologies and capabilities.

Own and evaluate emerging hardware, OS and Configuration Management products and technologies.

Own and develop strategies to reduce OS technical debt and communicate product release and end-of-service-life updates to team members.

Lead asset management plan for OS inventory.

Develop and maintain OS and Configuration Management product roadmaps that align technology capabilities with business priorities.

Partner with stakeholders to manage contracts and licenses.

Own, define, measure, track, and report KPIs for the OS platforms.

Drive process improvements through lean methodology of problem solving.
Qualifications
Minimum:

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
-
Five years of job-related experience as a Product Owner.
Desired:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Five years of experience as a Product Owner in an Agile environment.

Product Owner, Scrum Master, or other Agile certification.

AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or equivalent cloud platform certification.

Knowledge of Agile software development principles, values, concepts, methods, best practices, and techniques relevant to the role.

Ability to influence stakeholders and lead behavioral change.

Ability to apply knowledge of the business and marketplace to advance organizational goals.

Willingness to contribute beyond defined role responsibilities.

Experience with BPD planning or related business planning processes.

Experience with Linux, AIX, Windows, AWS, Azure, Azure Local, Tanium, VMware, Hyper-V, Ansible, CIS benchmarks.
Compensation
PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be between the minimum and midpoint listed below. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
