Department Overview

The Regulatory Affairs organization supports the operating lines of business by providing regulatory expertise, managing the development, approval and implementation of regulatory filings, rates and tariffs, and advocating the business needs to our stakeholders and regulators. Regulatory Proceedings leads the business in achieving company goals by working with regulators and other stakeholders. Today’s business needs innovative regulatory ideas and strong collaboration with stakeholders.

 

Position Summary

The Case Manager will be responsible for managing exciting regulatory proceedings ensuring compliance with regulatory directives and stakeholder engagement. This position may also be involved with the development of case materials, acting as an expert witness, process improvements and other special projects or initiatives.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. 

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. 

 

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $122,000
Bay Area Maximum: $194,000
 

 

Job Responsibilities

•    Assigned to cases of moderate to high complexity. Proactively manages the process.
•    Serves as expert witness, including preparation of testimony, discovery, and work papers.
•    Reviews and assists subject matter experts with development of testimony, work papers and discovery responses, settlement documents and communications materials.
•    Evaluates and develops recommendations on cost recovery, ratemaking, customer programs and tariffs.
•    Ensures all compliance items are identified, tracked, monitored and implemented.
•    Reviews and summarizes proposed decisions and other regulatory filings. Considering the impact of case developments on the company, provides insight into implications and makes recommendations of possible courses of action relating to case comments and/or proposed decisions.
•    Communicates effectively on case strategy or policy issues with company management or with outside parties.
•    Utilizes broad knowledge of the case and the line of business to proactively reach out to external entity contacts to gather information to support the case.
•    Provides mentoring or direction to less experienced peers.
•    Proactively contacts peers at other utilities for benchmarking.
 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:
•    Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
•    7 total years of relevant experience
 
Desired:
 
•    Experience in regulatory/policy, analytics, project management, case management, financial, and/or corporate communications.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•    Experience interpreting financial data.
•    Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
•    Analytical and project management skills.
•    Public speaking and presentations abilities to various levels of employees, including senior leadership.
•    Ability to analyze regulatory documents and understand implications to company.
•    Influence skills with leadership.
•    Coaching and mentoring skills
•    Strong knowledge of the CPUC and key contacts.
•    Strong knowledge of industry, line of business, and relevant regulations.
