Department Overview

In support of the Enterprise Transformation Office, Enterprise Organizational Readiness has been created as a team of change professionals who support leaders and teams for PG&E’s highest-priority initiatives to navigate the complexities of organizational change, develop capability within the organization, drive adoption and build readiness into our thinking and operating practices. Position Summary

This position provides change management support and expertise for enterprise-wide change efforts across PG&E. The scope of this position includes developing complex change management strategies, plans, and tactics for large and complex (transformational) initiatives that will have an enterprise-wide impact. Additionally, this role helps build PG&E’s internal change capability, not just support initiatives.

 

The ideal candidate will need to be able to navigate the organization and understand complex inter-relationships of various groups, operations, systems and/or processes to be able to identify risks, impacts and strategies that will help drive change management strategy and plans. This role is accountable for shaping the enterprise level change strategy across multiple concurrent initiatives, influencing executive sponsors, and setting standards for how change is practiced across PG&E.

 

Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to provide guidance and coaching to other change management consultants and business leads and be able to effectively communicate to and influence Officers and Directors with sponsor readiness and change risk identification. The ability to challenge leaders respectfully and engage as a strategic thought partner with them is a core expectation of the role. 

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland, CA, 1 - 3 days on average per week, or more, based on business needs or company requirements.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Develops / refines initiative strategy for Change Management. 
  • Identify key stakeholders and create effective partnerships to ensure success of program. 
  • Manages relationships with complex sets of stakeholder groups and develops effective methods for forming partnerships to ensure change adoption and enterprise initiative success.  
  • Develops and implements strategies for engaging and educating program leadership, initiative teams, and other key stakeholders on change management.  
  • Assesses for people related risks and develops plans and actions to mitigate risks and address concerns. 
  • Coordinates closely with the Change Center of Excellence to ensure that change best practices are being followed, make recommendations to the Change Management Playbook. 
  • Coach, mentor and train other Change Advisors and Business Leads.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in coaching, or related
  • Experience in project management
  • 10 years of change management experience; knowledge of change management tools

 

Desired:

 

  • Extensive experience supporting change management efforts; knowledge of change management tools 
  • Ability to lead a change effort and articulate change leadership approaches, strategies and plans to initiative team, sponsor, and key stakeholders. Strong process orientation and project management skills; ability to navigate ambiguity and uncertainty. 
  • Experience in building capabilities and working with diverse stakeholders. 
  • Orientation towards results and outcomes.  
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels in the organization, including Officers and Directors.
  • Navigating organizational, operational, technological and cultural systems simultaneously.
  • Passion for change management and coworker engagement. 
  • Easily coordinates activities across many different stakeholders.
  • People-oriented with ability to build strong relationships and influence coworkers. 
  • Bias for Action.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure. Thrives in ambiguous environments filled with change. 
  • Graduate Degree in organizational development, organizational behavior, or related field preferred. 
  • Expertise in leadership development and change sponsorship preferred 
  • High degree of emotional intelligence – including ability to interact, collaborate, and influence at the executive level 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PG&E business, technology, policy and industry trends.  
  • Completion of 21 hours of instructor-led change management training in a change methodology aligned with the ACMP Standard

 

PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position.  The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location.  The range to reasonably expect will be between the minimum and midpoint listed below.  The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

Bay Area Min: $144,000.00

Bay Area Mid: $194,000.00

Bay Area Max: $244,000.00
