Department Overview

 

Enterprise Business Processes is a cross-functional organization that is leading PG&E’s Propel program, a major business and technology modernization program to unlock customer value by simplifying the way we work together. Propel will migrate PG&E to the new version of SAP, S/4HANA, seizing this unique opportunity for PG&E to standardize business processes, clean the technology core, and enable innovation for breakthrough change across Engineering, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and Information Technology. Through a phased approach, Propel will implement process standardization, operating model changes, data improvements, and SAP and other technology applications with a focus on incrementally improving business capabilities and delivering value. ​

 

Enterprise Business Processes is comprised of multi-disciplinary coworkers with deep functional and industry expertise to design and implement end-to-end business process and technology solutions following industry leading practices. The team partners closely with IT and external partners to work collaboratively with many stakeholders to adopt standard processes and maximize use of out-of-the-box proven technology solutions to meet business needs. Position Summary

 

This is a leadership position is within the Organizational Readiness (OR) team of Propel. OR is responsible for all aspects change management for the Propel program, including communication & engagement, training, business readiness and operating model. 

 

The Director of Communication & Engagement owns the programs communications & engagement workstream, along with the strategy and all related deliverables and activities. 

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be Oakland General Office (OGO). General expectations for working days in OGO are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week.  There may be occasional reporting to alternate work locations, such as San Ramon, based on business need.

Reports into the Senior Director, Enterprise Work Management.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Owns Propel’s communications and engagement strategy, including messaging, event planning, and activation of culture.
  • Collaborates with leaders and Corporate Communications resources to develop and implement external communications.
  • Serves as lead for internal, external, and branding communications
    • single point-of-contact for internal communications development including routine newsletters, employee messages and conference presentations
    • single point-of-contact for event planning
  • Serve as culture leader for the Propel program and the voice of the program for ongoing stakeholder engagement and communications
  • Works cross-functionally across the program and across PG&E to accomplish strategic communications & engagement objectives, helping connect the dots for all stakeholder groups with effective written/visual/interactive communications
  • Identifies traditional and non-traditional communication channels to leverage throughout the program for a “surround sound” communications & engagement approach
  • Partners with external vendor teams for seamless execution  
  • Fosters and sustains relationships with external peers for benchmarking, analyzing trends/developments and proactively planning for challenges and risks.

Compensation

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:

 

Bay Area Minimum: $178,000

Bay Area Maximum: $304,000

 

Background Qualifications

 

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, business administration or comparable quantitative field or equivalent related work experience
  • 10 years of relevant work experience with steady progression of responsibilities
  • 4 years of supervisory/managerial experience

Desired

  • Master's degree in engineering, economics, business administration or equivalent quantitative field
  • Utility, energy or regulatory industry experience
