Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager to lead PG&E’s Enterprise Data Products team. This role will take charge in building our enterprise data & analytics capabilities, creating innovative data products and services to support business operations, analytic product teams, and internal stakeholders.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project delivery, enterprise data platforms, data warehouse architecture, and data management technologies, combined with leadership experience and a passion for leading, developing and mentoring high performing teams. This leader will spear head initiatives to implement data playbook, advance our enterprise data platform projects, and integrate data as standard work as part of PG&E’s major transformation programs.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and the Oakland General Office(OGO) at least once per week and or based on business needs.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.  

 

A reasonable salary range is:​

 

Bay Area Minimum:   $140,000

Bay Area Maximum:  $238,000   

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of program managers,  product owners and data engineers, ensuring high levels of engagement, performance, and professional growth.
  • Strategy and Execution:
    •  Establish and develop Data Platform and Products program office with focus on long term roadmap and immediate backlog for the Data Products Portfolio.
    • Develop and own business case, change management, and value realization.
    • Establish cadence and structure for regular leadership updates on the projects and programs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders: Analytic Product teams, Enterprise Data Management, Enterprise Data Architecture,  major program leaders, business stakeholders, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide project and portfolio leadership that drive business value.
  • Planning and Project Management: Manage data engineering projects, including planning, resource allocation, and execution, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives. Partner with stakeholders to develop robust data product roadmaps.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture focused on continuous improvement to meet evolving business needs and technologies.
  • Cost Management: Responsible for managing multiple programs in the DPP portfolio including: integrated financial management and reporting, ensuring that budget forecasts and actuals are closely monitored and providing variance analysis.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience in IT-Information Technology, 8 years
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a project/program management role along with leadership experience in data engineering,  data management, data product management.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project Management/Delivery: Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on delivering results in a fast-paced environment. Track record of successful delivering on large scale enterprise projects.
  • Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of data warehouse and business intelligence design and architecture, sql, python, and pyspark.
