Department Overview

The Enterprise Lean Office (ELO), part of the Customer and Enterprise Solutions team, champions the deployment of the Lean Operating System at PG&E.  ELO is responsible for developing standards, leading training, and deploying coaches to support PG&E coworkers to effectively implement Lean at PG&E.

 

Position Summary

Responsible for executing the Monthly “Run the Business” Operating Review architecture to drive effective KPI performance reporting and escalations. The monthly operating review consists of approximately 15 different SVP forums that meet every month.

 

This position will work directly with the Monthly Operating Review leads and senior leaders within the enterprise to drive a monthly meeting cadence through the year ensuring alignment to Enterprise Lean standards.

 

This position is hybrid with in-office work up to 60% of time (will depends on coaching assignments and location) headquartered in Oakland, CA. 

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

 

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

 

A reasonable salary range is:

 

Bay Area Minimum: $136,000.00
Bay Area Maximum: $232,000.00

 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for communication and coordination of Monthly Operating Review materials and deliverables
  • Communicating with Monthly Operating Review leads on requirements, making recommendations and to ensuring consistency throughout
  • Lead process implementation and improvement for Monthly Operating Reviews
  • Develop the overall annual Time Architecture including Monthly Operating Review calendar for the enterprise, coordinating with other enterprise processes such as board preparation, Business Plan Deployment meeting, earning calls, etc. 
  • Manage communication activities and ensure that all meeting materials are consistent with Enterprise Lean standards
  • Prepare and review agenda and materials for Monthly Operating Reviews and other planning meetings
  • Facilitate Monthly Operating Reviews and meetings to capture decisions made, action items, escalations, etc.
  • Strong Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Acts as a subject matter expert and thought leader around business planning and Hoshin deployment.
  • Coaches Business Plan Deployment teams (including True North Strategy, BPD Planning, Functional Area planners, Functional Area leaders and Lean peers) to drive effective and efficient planning processes
  • Lean Enterprise Lean Office responsibilities related to Annual Plan Deployment
  • Actively works with Functional Area planning teams as they develop their annual Plans on a Page, Tactical Implementation Plan, L1 KPI trees and facilitate workshops to drive alignment across the enterprise, among other coordination opportunities
  • Confirm adherence to enterprise standards for BPD process; identify and address deviations from standard
  • Support development and maintenance of KPI trees, target setting standards, planning templates, and other related standards
  • Collaborate with BPD stakeholders regularly to gather feedback and ensure alignment on key deliverables
  • Works with Functional Area leads to apply Lean principles and PG&E’s “5 Lean Plays” for critical projects, command centers, or other enterprise deliverables
  • Provides leadership and support in development of business planning and strategy for program design.
  • Develops and executes organizational strategy into business plans and metrics to drive accomplishment of goals and metrics.
  • Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced colleagues.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 10 years

 

Desired:

 

  • Masters Degree in Organizational Change, Industrial Engineering or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • LSS-Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification
  • Experience coaching multiple levels in an organization on Lean implementation, up to and including executive leadership
  • Familiarity with PG&E’s Lean Playbook/5 Basic Lean Plays
