Department Overview

In Customer & Corporate Affairs, we are focused on building trust with each of our customers by delivering for our hometowns, serving our planet, and leading with love. The Customer Experience (CE) organization develops, implements, and oversees customer-centric operations from meter installation to customer service and sales to final billing. The CE portfolio includes functions for meter testing, customer billing, payment processing, credit policy, revenue operations, contact center operations, digital channels, and pricing strategy. Business Operations and Strategy is an operations support team within the Customer Experience portfolio focused on strategic planning, financial and resource management, performance measurement and reporting, risk management, and implementation of enterprise-wide initiatives.

 

Position Summary

Develops communication strategies and disseminates internal and external communications with the goal of preserving and strengthening PG&E's reputation and credibility with various stakeholders. Researches and writes content for internal and external audiences by providing information on programs, policies, projects and other efforts impacting the organization. Supports other communications efforts providing ideas, edits and formatting to support communications strategies.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business needs or company requirements.

PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position.  The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location.  The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint.  The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

Bay Area Min: $122,000

Bay Area Mid: $158,000

Bay Area Max: $194,000

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with leaders across the enterprise, provides strategic counsel and ensures communication alignment with department goals.
  • Defines and use communications measures and metrics to monitor performance objectives.
  • Demonstrates broad expertise and understanding of fundamental communications concepts
  • Designs and develops communications for use in a wide variety of media and contexts and for organizational-wide audiences or for large groups of customers
  • Identifies and understands industry best practices and incorporates leanings into communications strategies and plans.
  • Manages and leads complex communications initiatives and projects and takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions
  • Manages communication programs, including project plans, timelines and milestones, communication documents and other collateral materials.
  • May manage cross-functional projects or initiatives
  • Works with Directors and VPs across the organization to influence decisions around internal and external communications

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 6 years
  • CA Class C License, or equivalent


Desired:

  • Masters Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in the utility or highly regulated industry
  • Ability to use understanding of the business to drive strategic decision making and recommend operational improvements
  • Ability to lead functional area initiatives and process improvements of the highest complexity and impact
  • Ability to present highly complex data and findings to diverse audiences including senior leadership
  • Ability to analyze complex business processes and recommend improvements
  • Champion and overcome resistance to and facilitate change
  • Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact
  • Highly collaborative, able to work cross-functionally, possess the ability to forge relationships and partner effectively across various functional areas
  • Experience supporting customer experience transformation initiatives including leadership alignment, internal communications campaigns, and programs that reinforce a customer-first mindset across large, complex organizations
