Department Overview

Marketing and Communications develops, executes and oversees a broad spectrum of strategic external and internal communications initiatives, provides communications counsel and support to all functional areas, and manages the marketing and corporate branding programs at PG&E.

 

Position Summary

To help align coworkers in living the company’s Purpose—delivering for our hometowns, serving our planet and leading with love—PG&E produces multiple large-scale events each year, including leadership meetings and all-coworker business updates. The Senior Communications Representative will support the Corporate Events Team by assisting in the planning and execution of large-scale corporate events and independently managing smaller-scale events. This role is critical in ensuring that each event aligns with our company’s Purpose and creates joyful and engaging experiences for all attendees.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland, CA approximately once per week, or more, based on business needs.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.  

 

Bay Area: $95,000.00 - $130,900

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead in the coordination and execution of major corporate events. These events include in-person leadership meetings and hybrid all-coworker business updates.
  • Collaborate with department and cross-functional leaders to plan event agendas and logistics.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and stakeholders to ensure high-quality event execution.
  • Monitor event budgets and ensure all financial aspects are handled according to company policies.
  • Collect feedback and participate in the evaluation of events to improve future initiatives.
  • Act as a thought partner with other functional areas within the company to ensure clear and concise enterprise communications. 
  • Serve as a part of the on-call rotation for emergency response communications, which may include evening and weekend work.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • Job-related experience, 5 years
  • CA Class C License, or equivalent
  • Record of Clean Driving

 

Desired:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in event planning or related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in planning and executing events.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint.
  • Certified Meeting Planner Professional (CMP).
  • Experience in corporate environments.
  • Ability to create engaging visual presentations for various audiences.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed for event planning and execution.
