The Marketing and Communications team at PG&E shapes how the company communicates with the 16 million people it serves in Northern and Central California. We keep customers informed about PG&E’s progress in delivering safe, reliable energy at the lowest cost possible. This team also drives marketing efforts to encourage customer participation in programs that promote energy efficiency, provide income-qualified bill discounts, and advance the electrification of transportation, homes and industries.

 

Position Summary

The position is responsible for developing customer-facing materials and content strategies that support PG&E’s Regulatory Affairs, Service Planning and Customer Care teams. The purpose of these communications is to ensure compliance and inform customers of key updates to our programs and operations. In this role, you may be required to work closely with subject matter experts and other marketing professionals on developing materials, process guidelines and editorial calendars to provide timely and relevant information regarding the company’s offerings and programs.

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.   

 

Pay Range display:

Bay Area – $114,000 to $162,800 annually

Responsibilities

Communications Support  

  • Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs, Customer Care, Law, and other internal stakeholders to develop a comprehensive communications strategy that prioritizes educating customers about rates-related issues. This strategy will ensure customers receive timely, clear, and useful information, helping them better understand their bills.
  • Support the development of educational materials to support Service Planning and Design program updates.
  • Research, contribute ideas, and edit content for external communication channels ensuring consistency in tone, voice and alignment with company branding principles and strategies.

 

Campaign Execution

  • Communicate activities and deliverables to internal stakeholders and recommend improvements.
  • Provide strategic direction to internal teams for outreach plans, analytics, and campaign execution.

 

Cross-functional Coordination

  • Guide cross-functional teams in developing creative materials, including direct-to-customer communications, collateral, and web updates.
  • Develop campaign and tactical creative briefs aligned with program strategies.
  • Assist in creating and editing materials for strategic planning

 

Emergency Response Support

  • Serve as a member of the company’s emergency response team, providing invaluable support during critical, high-visibility events.
  • Support the Public Information Officer to address the needs and concerns of customers, employees, and external stakeholders during emergencies.
  • May be required to work after hours, weekends as needed in the event of an Emergency Operations Center activation.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • 7 years of experience managing the development and delivery of marketing materials, defining strategic objectives, setting metrics and measuring performance

 

Desired:

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills and experience communicating with multiple diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills to reach successful outcomes in ambiguous and dynamic situations.
  • Proven experience in Lean methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
  • Proven ability to foster trust and collaborative partnerships with colleagues and internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work proactively and self-start in a fast-paced, team driven environment.
  • Experience working in environmental or energy related field a plus.
