The Procurement Organization includes a staff of more than two hundred sourcing managers, buyers, analysts, and supplier diversity personnel. The Procurement Excellence Center (PEC) is a strategic function dedicated to driving procurement transformation, operational efficiency, and value creation across the organization. Within the Procurement organization, the PEC establishes best practices, standardizes processes, and leverages systems, advanced analytics, and market intelligence to enable data-driven decision-making. The PEC collaborates with all Procurement teams to enhance capabilities, improve performance, and optimize costs. Key focus areas include systems, market intelligence and analytics, digital procurement transformation, risk management, supplier relationship management, governance, and capability development.

 

 

Position Summary

Provides expert‑level ownership of procurement systems administration, solution delivery, and optimization, serving as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders and a key driver of digital procurement transformation.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland based on business needs or company requirements.

 

PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint <$122,000 - $158,000>. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Bay Area Mid: $158,000

Bay Area Max: $194,000

 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Owns administration, configuration, and ongoing optimization of SAP Ariba modules across the Procure‑to‑Pay lifecycle, including troubleshooting complex issues and partnering with IT and vendors to resolve system defects.
  • Functions as a liaison to Information Technology from the Procurement Organization, representing the end users and business process owners in business system requirements, implementations, and support.
  • Leads requirements discovery by translating ambiguous business needs into clear functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and solution designs, and ensures successful delivery through user acceptance testing and production readiness.
  • Designs, builds, and maintains end‑to‑end Power Platform solutions – including Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, and Power BI dashboards – to improve procurement efficiency, visibility, and controls.
  • Leads and supports the application of AI‑enabled capabilities within procurement systems and workflows, focusing on practical automation, decision support, and productivity improvements rather than experimental research.
  • Partners with internal teams to pilot, scale, and operationalize AI‑enabled solutions, ensuring appropriate governance and adoption.
  • Ensures system changes, automation, and reporting solutions align with procurement governance, audit, and compliance requirements, balancing usability with control standards.
  • Develops and delivers training programs and job aids focused on AI technologies in procurement. Facilitates change management initiatives to ensure successful adoption of AI tools, including hands-on workshops, webinars, and digital learning modules.
  • Mentors team members on AI best practices and emerging trends, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the procurement organization.
  • Stays informed on industry trends and best practices, integrating external insights and benchmarking into internal AI initiatives for continuous improvement.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of experience in procurement or other job-related discipline
  • Extensive participation in projects of medium to high complexity
  • Knowledge of the Procure-to-Pay process.
  • Knowledge of SAP Ariba modules
  • Power Platform Applications – Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI

 

Desired

  • SAP Ariba certification
  • SAP S/4 HANA experience
  • SAP Fieldglass experience
  • Knowledge or experience with SOX and/or procurement compliance requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across multiple functional areas within the enterprise.
  • Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience with AI-driven procurement solutions, analytics, or digital transformation projects.
