Position Summary

The Business Analyst supports the Enterprise Integration (EI) Integration Platforms team by partnering with technology leadership, delivery teams, product owners, and business stakeholders to drive operational excellence, platform modernization, and strategic planning initiatives. This role is responsible for business analysis, requirements gathering, intake and demand management, budget planning support, KPI development, operational reporting, process engineering, and Agile team facilitation.

 

The position plays a key role in enabling successful delivery of integration solutions across the enterprise and supports the adoption of AI-enabled development practices, business intelligence solutions, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland, CA approximately 1 - 2 days per week, or more, based on business needs or company requirements.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

  • Gather, document, analyze, and validate business, technical, and operational requirements for integration platform initiatives.
  • Translate business needs into user stories, process flows, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with integration architects, developers, platform engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure requirements alignment.
  • Support project planning, solution delivery, testing coordination, and deployment readiness activities.

 

Intake, Portfolio & Demand Management

  • Support project intake, work intake, prioritization, and governance processes.
  • Coordinate requests across integration delivery teams and platform operations teams.
  • Assist leadership with resource planning, capacity forecasting, and work portfolio reporting.
  • Develop and maintain project tracking dashboards and status reporting.

 

Budget Planning & Financial Analysis

  • Assist with annual budget planning, forecasting, vendor management tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Support labor forecasting, contractor management reporting, and operational expenditure analysis.
  • Develop reports and metrics supporting leadership decision-making.

 

KPI & Operational Analytics

  • Define, measure, and maintain Integration Platform operational KPIs.
  • Develop executive dashboards and scorecards supporting platform reliability, delivery effectiveness, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze operational data and provide recommendations for improving service quality and platform performance.
  • Create recurring and ad hoc operational reports for leadership reviews.

 

Business Intelligence & Reporting

  • Design and develop Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or similar business intelligence dashboards.
  • Create automated reporting solutions leveraging enterprise data sources.
  • Partner with stakeholders to establish reporting standards, data quality controls, and metric definitions.
  • Provide data analysis supporting strategic and operational decision-making.

 

Process Engineering & Continuous Improvement

  • Document current-state and future-state business processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, workflow optimization, and process redesign.
  • Develop process maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs), governance documentation, and training materials.
  • Support Lean, Agile, and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

AI & Digital Enablement

    • Utilize AI-enabled development tools and productivity platforms to improve operational efficiency, reporting, and software delivery outcomes.
    • Collaborate with development teams to identify opportunities for AI-assisted automation and workflow optimization.
    • Support creation of AI-powered business solutions, intelligent reporting capabilities, and process automation workflows.
    • Participate in AI governance, testing, adoption, and continuous improvement activities.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of relevant business analysis, operations, technology, project management, or reporting experience.

 

Desired:

  • Experience supporting Integration, API, Middleware, Cloud, or Enterprise Technology organizations.
  • Experience working in Agile and Scrum environments.
  • Experience serving as a Scrum Master.
  • Experience with budget planning, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Experience building dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
  • Experience developing operational metrics and executive scorecards.
  • Experience with process engineering, Lean methodologies, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience using AI development and productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Kiro IDE, or similar AI-enabled platforms.
  • Knowledge of integration technologies such as MuleSoft, APIs, cloud platforms, and enterprise application integration concepts.

  • Strong business analysis and requirements elicitation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience creating executive-level reporting and presentations.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Power BI, and collaboration tools.
  • Understanding of Agile, Scrum, project lifecycle management, and operational excellence principles.
  • Knowledge of AI-assisted development, business process automation, and data-driven decision-making practices.

Preferred Certifications

  • PMI-PBA or CBAP
  • Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate
  • Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, or AI-related certifications

 

Compensation

PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position.  The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location.  The range to reasonably expect will be between the minimum and midpoint listed below.  The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

Bay Area Min: $82,000.00

Bay Area Mid: $103,000.00

Bay Area Max: $124,000.00
