Additionally, we collaborate with municipal, county, and state agencies to ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
Position Summary
PG&E seeks an experienced individual to manage complex rate/program implementation and business user testing. Responsibilities include reviewing and documenting program requirements, aligning billing system changes, developing test strategies, creating program requirements via Excel, and performing testing scenarios. Additional duties involve data analysis, research, reporting, and cross functional responsibilities based on business needs. The role also supports billed revenue financial data reporting and recommends process improvements. The ideal candidate is adaptable and focused on customer advocacy.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and the Oakland General Office (OGO) based on business needs.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $114,000
Bay Area Maximum: $182,000
Responsibilities
- Create or modify gas and electric rate calculation templates for user acceptance testing due to regulatory decisions affecting gas/electric rates.
- Address various requests and inquiries from internal / external customers and audits, ensuring all data provided aligns with utility standards.
- Proactively assess the impact of billing system implementation on downstream users
- Develop and monitor metrics that provide data for process measurement, business operations, or risk assessment.
- Collaborate and coordinate with IT for rate value changes or the implementation of new programs.
- Conduct validation of various bill credits, including electric/gas climate credits and associated taxes/fees.
- Continuously monitor the regulatory landscape in preparation for upcoming programs.
- Assist with recurring tax remittances and process improvement projects.
- Validate relationships between end-to-end implementation activities, ensuring that functional design aligns with rate or program requirements.
- Support the Customer Revenue Insight (CRI-billed revenue data) system by providing accurate and timely recurring/ad-hoc reports.
- Offer feedback and coaching to peers and leaders across the organization to enhance programs, processes, and controls.
- Challenge the status quo and business decisions when necessary, presenting suitable alternatives.
- Develop and update procedures to ensure process documentation is available for business continuity.
- Reconciliation between reporting systems.
- Facilitate problem resolution and oversee solution deployment.
- Adhere to safe work practices and incorporate safety into process design;identify and address unsafe situations
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- A Bachelor of Science in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a job-related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required.
- Six years of relevant work experience.
Desired:
- MBA or graduate degree.
- Extensive expertise in both qualitative and quantitative analytical methods.
- Experience in the utility industry, with knowledge of CA Public Utilities Code, tariffs, rules, regulations, standards, and local ordinances.
- Advanced understanding of PG&E’s billing systems.
- Proficiency with SAP, Oracle Utility Analytics, SQL, Teradata, and Microsoft Power BI suite.
- Ability to be creative, versatile, efficient, and productive in the face of ambiguity.
- Advanced skills in Visual Basics for applications (VBA), Excel, including slicers, pivot tables, and conditional formulas.
- Expertise in Power BI.
- A keen focus on detail.
- Strong and persuasive verbal/written communication skills.
- Continuous improvement mindset to analyze complex problems, anticipate issues, and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
