Position Summary

Creates, manages, and monitors the learning solution project plan to craft a solution that meets the client needs. Collaborates to determine business needs and project resources, cost, and timeline estimates. Defines, creates, executes, analyzes and closes learning solution development projects. Communicates project status and sets expectations for team members and stakeholders. Creates financial forecast/estimates and plans for each learning solution. Ensures the IDs are using the established standards tools and templates and guidelines for curriculum development.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum: $​98,000

Bay Area Maximum: $​146,000

 

 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Complete moderate to complex learning strategy assignments including needs analysis, solution definition, and learning approach recommendations, while managing multiple resources and projects at a given time.
  • Prepare and facilitate pre-engagement, front-end analysis, learning solution, and design strategy sessions to define instructional approach, learning architecture, and success measures for internal design team and client groups; partner with Delivery, Operations and Line of Business to strategize, prepare for and execute on training deployment.
  • Track and report on project status, timeline and financials. Track progress of curriculum development and/or delivery goals and metrics; summarize trends from key learning meetings and L1-L3 results and recommend adjustments to learning solutions based on findings; provide updates and reports to Academy and Line of Business stakeholders.
  • Take a new perspective on / modify existing methods, approaches and tactics to resolve complex learning and performance problems and obtain solutions.
  • Work across lines of business to lead and deliver on cross-functional learning solutions. Examples include, but are not limited to: QA/QC, Work Methods and Procedures, and Leadership and Culture.
  • Manage escalations to resolution, clearly articulating risks and impact to stakeholders.
  • Provide coaching and support to other team members on instructional design standards, learning strategy, and solution quality.
  • Lead or directly contribute to the curriculum design and development of training content and materials selecting from appropriate training tools, methods, approaches and tactics.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Liberal Arts, Business Administration, or related degree/ field/equivalent business experience
  • 5 or more years of experience in learning or project management or performance consulting or training development.
  • Experience in process development and/or continuous improvement.
  • Certification in PMI, or ability to achieve this certification within prescribed time frame

 

Desired: 

  • Demonstrate Instructional design experience
  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to analyze data, track budgets and schedules, and create reports to support learning strategy, project execution, and decision‑making
  • Experience defining learning strategies, curriculum roadmaps, or solution architectures
  • Familiarity with learning technologies and LMS platforms
  • Experience supporting technical or operational training initiatives
  • Lean Six Sigma Training or Certification Change Leadership experience or certification
  • Communicates clearly and effectively—both verbally and in writing—across technical, operational, and leadership audiences.
  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to analyze data, track budgets and schedules, and create reports to support learning strategy, project execution, and decision making
  • Experience defining learning strategies, curriculum roadmaps, or solution architectures
  • Familiarity with learning technologies and LMS platforms
