Department Overview

The Coworkers of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.

 

Position Summary

Oversees the command and control of outage response management and leads teams of Troublemen (outage, emergency first responders) and distribution control centers involved in system-wide distribution grid monitoring and restoration efforts. Analyzes and prioritizes outages to determine the most efficient procedure for restoration.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

 

We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
 

A reasonable salary range is:​

 

Annual Minimum:  $137,000.00

Annual Maximum: $232,000.00                     

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Approximately 125 total employees. Restoration Supervisors and Troublemen. Coaches supervisors on effective customer relations while dealing with outages in the field.
  • Ensures completion of street light repair in region within established timeframes. Ensures inspection and maintenance of distribution line equipment is completed annually in region and in compliance with GO165.
  • Manages the execution of the regional restoration financial plan. Monitors overall budget including unit cost actuals versus plan. Manages the execution of the regional restoration financial plan. Monitors overall budget including unit cost actuals versus plan within established timeframes.
  • Oversees restoration teams for a region of the service territory. Oversees the execution of outage restoration and response by ensuring that the maximum numbers of customers are restored in the safest, most efficient manner.
  • Oversees the organization and execution of distribution switching processes and procedures. Ensures the processes are being followed in accordance with expectations.
  • Partners with peers, staff departments, matrix organizations and outside agencies to improve overall business results. Develops and implement process improvements. Contributes to timely completion of electric construction and substation projects.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Eight (8) years of total related experience (or combination business experience/education)
  • Three to Five (3-5) years supervisory experience over union represented employees in the utility industry.
  • California Driver’s License

Desired:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Leadership experience, job-related, 3 years
