Department Overview

 

The Land Rights Services group (LRS) is a part of the Land Management (LM) organization which is responsible for the oversight and management of PG&E land assets which include fee properties and various land entitlements. PG&E owns and manages nearly 140,000 acres of land spread across 49 California counties, from Shasta County on the north to Kern County on the south. The company is one of the largest private property owners in the state, and in addition manages thousands of acres of right-of-way easements for electric and gas facilities.

 

 

Position Summary

 

The Land Rights PRISM Intern will support the Plan Review, Inquiries, and Strategic Management (PRISM) team with administrative, analytical, and process‑improvement tasks. This role is designed to provide hands‑on experience with land management operations, utility plan review, document management, and internal reporting while contributing to meaningful workload support for the Land Rights organization.

 

The intern will work closely with Land Rights Supervisors and PRISM team members to assist with backlog reduction, data tracking, documentation, and quality control efforts.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with plan review intake support, including tracking incoming requests and organizing supporting documentation
  • Help maintain and update tracking logs, dashboards, and reports related to PRISM workload and volume
  • Support backlog cleanup efforts, including document organization, scanning, and data validation
  • Assist in process documentation (how‑to guides, job aids, workflow summaries)
  • Perform quality control checks or spot audits on completed work under supervision
  • Support Salesforce data entry and verification to ensure work is properly captured
  • Assist PRISM leads with special projects, reporting, or analysis as needed
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and knowledge‑sharing activities

 

 

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

 

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.88 to $34.07.

 

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum:

  • Qualified candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Policy, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Forestry, Land, Air & Water Resources, or a related field at an accredited University
  • Students must be continuing their education towards degree during and/or after the internship

 

Desired:

  • 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
  • Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills 
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to create, edit, and manage documents efficiently
