Department Overview

 

The team of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response.
 

Position Summary

 

Manages resources to meet customer needs and ensures field personnel are safely dispatched to customer requests, compliance work and emergency calls. Manages the restoration dispatch center to ensure efficient processes, and effective cost and budget management. Oversees scheduling, streetlight repair process, 911 Emergency calls, the Estimated Time of Restoration (ETOR) and general clerical functions.
 

This position is a DOT (Department of Transportation) covered classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol screening
 

 

** The expected shift hours for this position are Tuesday- Saturday 2pm – 10pm**

 

Position duties may include but are not limited to-

•    Documents all emergency situations and ensures work plans and customer commitments are being met.
•    Ensures consistency and adherence to work, involving compliance, OSHA safety standards, and PG&E safety regulations.
•    Ensures objectives and goal are met to quality, customer service and safety.
•    Ensures proper staffing to meet customer needs.
•    Provides day to day work direction to a team of dispatchers and/or schedulers, ensuring timely dispatching of field personnel to resolve outages, 911 emergency calls, compliance work or other customer or public agency requests.
•    Recommends process improvements regarding the handling of customer appointments and 911 emergency calls as well as worker performance.
•    Supervises Bargaining unit dispatchers and ESC schedulers
•    Supervises team to accomplish results through recruitment and selection, training and development, scheduling, reviewing work, quality assurance, performance management, and rewards & recognition.
•    Supports field personnel in streetlight repairs, handling customer calls, determining maintenance ownership of streetlights (cities, counties, or PG&E) and dispatching Trouble workers. 
•    Takes initiative and accountability of their learnings
•    Good communicator
•    Has a good understanding of Microsoft Office software; including but not limited to: Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and OneNote.

 

Incumbent should expect to travel approximately 10% of work schedule. 


The headquarter base for this role will be Fresno.
 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

 

A reasonable salary range is:

California Minimum:$112,000
California Maximum: $179,000

 

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

•    Supervisory Responsibility- Bargaining unit clerks, dispatchers, ESC schedulers
 

Qualifications-

Minimum:
•    High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
•     3 years total relevant experience.
 
 
Desired:
•   Associates Degree or equivalent experience
•   5 years of job-related experience
•   1 year of leadership experience
