Position Summary

 

In this position, the candidate will be responsible for working with the automation engineering group to implement new graphical control schemes for human machine interface (HMI) and other substation apparatuses. The preferred candidate will possess working experience with one or more software programs such as EATON SMP (SG-4260) Gateway application suite. Will support substation apparatus design and deployment in alignment with Operations group in operating the transmission system efficiently.  Work with the Automation engineering team to ensure that the equipment being designed meets the operational needs of Transmission Operations.  Serve as liaison with division and district field operations personnel.

 

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned location on weekly basis.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

 

Bay Area Minimum: $80,000
Bay Area Mid: $100,000

Bay Area Maximum: $120,000

 

California Minimum: $76,000

California Mid: $95,000

California Maximum: $114,000

 

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Install and maintain Eaton HMI - DB/Displays/Test devices with BA (i.e. EMS & ADMS)
  • Transmission & Distribution (T&D)Substation RTU commissioning with ADMS & EMS
  • T&D SCADA Apparatus O&M tier 1 support
  • Substation Monitoring Tier 1 Support
  • Maintain Substation monitoring software
  • Cyber security apparatus support
  • Demonstrates ability to work with both internal and external customers/clients.
  • Able to plan out required actions to address an issue. Defines scope and required tasks or activities to accomplish goal.
  • Works with limited supervision and guidance, both independently and/or as a member of a team.
  • Uses independent judgment in applying engineering principles and techniques to determine cost effective and practical solutions.
  • Completes multiple projects concurrently.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • Experience in IT-Information Technology computing, infrastructure services emphasis, 1 year
  • Experience with OS-Operating System server support, W2K3 and W2K8, 1 year

 

Desired:

 

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience with general SCADA systems support, 6 months
  • Experience with IT-Information Technology systems, 3 years
  • Working knowledge of EATON SMP Gateways.
