Department 

Electric Operations (EO) ensures the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response.  

 

Electric Operations Construction Management is responsible for the construction, project and contract management of PG&E’s electric distribution overhead and underground facilities. 

 

Position Summary

Oversee data for electric capital construction and maintenance projects throughout service territory. Manage team of Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Business Intelligence (BI) Developers, Database Administrators (DBAs), and Visualization Designers. The Data Architect & Tools, Supervisor, will lead the centralization and oversight of data flow, structure, and reporting across the organization.

 

Job Responsibilities

This role is responsible for designing and maintaining efficient data architecture, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and accessibility of data to support timely and strategic decision-making. By unifying data functions and implementing best practices in data governance and reporting, this position will drive organizational affordability, reduce redundancy, and enhance the overall value of our data assets.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  

 

Although, we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. 

 

A reasonable salary range is: 

 

  1. Annual Minimum:      $144,000
  2. Annual Midpoint:    $194,000
  3. Annual Maximum:    $244,000

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of organization-wide data architecture and reporting frameworks. Centralize data management functions across EO Construction Management to ensure consistency and reduce redundancy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and enforce data standards, governance policies, and best practices. Oversee the development and optimization of data pipelines to support timely and accurate reporting.
  • Ensure data is structured and stored efficiently to enable scalable and user-friendly reporting solutions. Monitor data quality and integrity across systems, identifying and resolving discrepancies proactively.
  • Support strategic decision-making by delivering reliable, actionable insights through standardized reporting. Manage and mentor staff involved in data reporting and analytics, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate and implement tools and technologies that enhance data accessibility, reporting speed, and affordability. rovide regular updates and recommendations to leadership on data strategy, performance metrics, and improvement opportunities.
  • Supervises 5-15 direct reports which may include Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Business Intelligence (BI) Developers, Database Administrators (DBAs), and Visualization Designers. May supervise union or non-union employees.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
  • Six (6) years’ total relevant experience in: 
  • technical project management, and/or
  • program management in the utility industry, and/or
  • business management in the utility industry

OR

  • Three (3) years supervisory experience of project management, engineering and/or construction of Transmission/Distribution projects. Regular travel required throughout the assigned region or service territory.
  • Regular travel required throughout the assigned region or service territory.

Desired:

  • Knowledge of electric and gas distribution facilities and construction.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI)
