Department Overview

Over 6,500 coworkers in Electric T&D ensure the delivery of clean, safe, reliable and affordable energy to nearly 16 million people in Northern and Central California. The Electric T&D Team is responsible for ensuring the electric grid's reliability and resiliency through the ongoing maintenance and operations of PG&E's 100,000 miles of distribution lines and over 18,000 miles of Transmission lines. Coworkers in Electric T&D's actively engage in the Lean Methodology through the use of Visual Management in Operating Reviews to cross-functionally identify and solve problems,  and create standard work. Position Summary

 

This position is on-site; headquartered in Danville, CA.

 

Designs, develops, implements, and oversees health and safety programs in accordance with safety & health strategy which includes program marketing and immersion of programs at PG&E to change or improve employee health, safety, and wellness. Manages activities associated with safety, wellness, and/or health programs including planning, coordinating, monitoring, and reporting effectiveness of such programs. Responsible for organizing, leading, and facilitating cross-functional teams as well as communicating programs. Works with Safety & Health leaders to strategize and execute program initiatives; supports execution by providing tools to leadership and health champions. Delivers presentations and training courses.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum: $​105,000

Bay Area Maximum: $​169,000

 

Responsibilities:

  • Implements and maintains programs, systems and procedures necessary to ensure the overall safety and health of employees and the community.
  • Assists in creating safety standards and policies that meet regulatory compliance and represent best practices.
  • Keeps fully informed on all existing and proposed changes in occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Oversees success of safety & health programs including implementing and rolling-out company-wise innovative programs to improve safety & health in the lines of businesses.
  • Makes presentations to senior leadership as well as communicating program philosophy, information, and operational policies and procedures.
  • Ensures programs are compliant with local, state and federal regulatory agencies mandates.
  • Acts as the primary interface for big, complex programs including leading coordination and facilitating of program review sessions with leaders and/or functional groups to review costs, schedule and program effectiveness.
  • Responsible for preparation of safety & health materials and content.
  • Develops annual campaigns.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 5 years of safety and program development/management experience in a construction, utility, or other industrial environment.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • BA / BS degree
  • Safety or program management experience in a construction or laboratory environment.
  • Utility experience
  • Highly effective communication skills
  • Ability to organize clear and concise presentation points and deliver these in an informative, engaging, and articulate manner
  • Ability to solve problems, taking into account the strategic and operational perspective
  • Demonstrated strong customer focus, project achievement/management and cross-functional collaboration/teamwork skills; The ability to work in a fast paced, results orientated environment
  • Ability to think and work independently using a wide range of resources.
  • Knowledge of incident investigation analysis and corrective action plan development/management.
  • Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Power Point skills.
  • Knowledge of CalOSHA general industry and construction safety orders and other recognized safety regulations and standards (e.g., ANSI, ASTM, NFPA, NEC, FedOSHA, etc).
