Department Overview

The Business Unit Intern role will involve an analyst’s guidance in developing proactive solutions for the Applied Technology Service Department. Specifically, the candidate will be involved in tracking, building, and developing visual metrics to support the ATS True North Strategy. The candidate will also assist other units with processing data and reports.  There will be opportunities to enhance existing business intake processes, existing reporting metrics, and creating new visuals for the units at ATS.

 

Miscellaneous: This role will occasionally be tasked with supporting miscellaneous engineering/test projects to ensure that ATS continues to provide high-value, innovative, proactive solutions to PG&E business units in a cost-effective way.

 

Position Summary

  • Work on multiple stages of projects including data pipeline, aggregation, modeling and visualization
  • Assist with business functions such as accruals, purchasing, and data entry
  • Partners with senior team members to develop proficiency in a variety of issues
  • Assists with the more complex projects by compiling and providing technical data
  • Prepare monthly progress reports on productivity, turnaround time, and other critical business metrics for respective assignments

 

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

 

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $23.85 to $35.11.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree program in an applied business or quantitative field such as Statistics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent field
  • Students must be continuing their education towards degree during and/or after the internship

                

Desired:

  • Completed Bachelor degree in an applied business or quantitative field such as Statistics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent field and currently pursuing Master degree in Engineering with emphasis in a discipline related to assignments. (i.e., material science, mechanical, civil or electrical engineering, etc.)
  • Previous internship, co-op, or work related experience.
  • Python, Java, R, SQL, PL/SQL, PowerBI
  • Basic investigative skills
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Collaboration and teamwork.
  • Comfortable with computers: familiar with MS Outlook, Work, Excel and PowerPoint.
