Position Summary: PG&E’s Applied Technology Services department is seeking a motivated and detailed-oriented intern to support and grow an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program in a professional environment.  You will gain exposure to OSHA standards, regulatory compliance, and management systems, while having an opportunity to lead small projects that make a measurable and sustainable impact.  A successful candidate should be a proactive learner who understands the value of sustainable processes, can identify improvements, and implement solutions. The intern will work closely with experienced professionals and will receive mentorship and guidance.

 

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $24.52 to $35.37

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of workplace safety programs and procedures.
  • Support safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments associated with our test facility and project sites.
  • Help maintain accurate safety documentation and training records.
  • Participate in incident investigations by gathering data, preparing summaries, and identifying causes and contributing factors.
  • Contribute to safety training materials, presentations, and communication campaigns.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to promote safety awareness and continuous improvement.
  • Research regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and emerging safety technologies.
  • Provide general administrative support to the EHS team as needed.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Students MUST be continuing education towards degree during and/or after internship

Desired:

  • 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
  • Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
