Position Summary

This position is for a ATS Career Electrical Engineer that performs electrical testing and engineering analysis in the field and at ATS labs. Work duties may include grounding safety studies, facility arc-flash hazard analysis, underground cable testing, EMF Program Support, equipment failure analysis, engineering support for safety investigations, and general electrical engineering analysis.  This work supports Company goals for enhanced Public Safety, Employee Safety, Risk Reduction, and Wildfire Safety and Compliance.

 

The selected candidate must live within PG&E’s service territory. 

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area)            $109,000.00

Mid Base Salary (Bay Area)        $142,000.00

Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area)           $175,000.00

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical engineering analyses, including arc‑flash studies, failure investigations, and power system evaluations.
  • Support PPE and flame‑resistant clothing technical evaluations related to electrical safety.
  • Utilize or develop proficiency with LabVIEW and related tools for test data acquisition and analysis.
  • Lead and execute field and laboratory testing; prepare technical reports, specifications, and recommendations.
  • Apply independent judgment to resolve complex technical issues with moderate precedent and high safety impact.
  • Plan and lead projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and support of client proposals.
  • Interface with internal and external clients to define requirements and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Provide technical expertise to stakeholders and represent PG&E in technical or industry forums as needed.
  • Support development, evaluation, and improvement of technologies, processes, and testing methods.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with emphasis in a discipline related to assignments. (i.e., mechanical, civil or electrical engineering, etc.)
  • 3 years of job-related experience

 

Desired:

  • Masters Degree or equivalent experience
  • PE-Professional Engineer license
