Department Overview

The Office of the CIO (OCIO) exists to ensure that IT is effectively managing and recovering its costs, investing strategically, and operating effectively. Four teams within the OCIO enable this: IT Supplier Office, People Strategy and Metrics & Reporting, Strategic Portfolio Operational Excellence and Investment & Regulatory Management. 
 

Position Summary

The Operations Data Analyst will work on the Metrics & Reporting team and will be responsible for developing and maintaining dashboards used by the senior IT leadership on a daily basis. This individual may also help with supporting benchmarking activities, troubleshooting complex reports, and actively working with leaders across IT to improve operational efficiency through clear KPI’s and visualization of data.  
 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $87,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $131,000.00

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and our Cupertino location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Works with senior leadership from within IT to develop visual management boards for operating reviews 
  • Develops actionable, compelling reports and presents them to leadership in a clear and concise way 
  • Manages complex data analysis projects end to end ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on time 
  • Extracts, models, and transforms complex datasets for visualization 
  • Assists senior leadership in defining new KPI’s and benchmarking against other utilities.  

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Engineering or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 2 years


Desired:

  • Analytical acumen: ability to synthesize user requirements and provide meaningful analysis  
  • Advanced Excel, Advanced Power BI skills 
  • Experience ingesting API data into Power BI 
  • Ability to debug, troubleshoot technical development, refresh issues 
  • Firm understanding of Lean visual management 
  • Experience using Business Objects to actively generate reports
