Department Overview

PG&E’s Vegetation Management (VM) team works with our customers and communities to manage trees and other vegetation located near powerlines that could cause a wildfire or power outage. Each year we inspect approximately 100,000 miles of powerlines, trim or remove more than 1 million trees, and address dead and dying trees. 

 

Position Summary

This is an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1245 represented classification, which has over 100 years of experience representing employees at PG&E.  This job is subject to collective bargaining.

Provides clerical and/or administrative support (handling mail, ordering/stocking/distribution office supplies, copying) to one or more departments/supervisors.

 

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreement, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. ​

 

Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, the starting hourly rate range for this position is $39.82 to $52.75, subject to collectively bargained wage increases.

 

 Responsibilities:

-Manage orders and notifications within SAP

-Perform order cost analysis and adjustments 

-Review vendor invoices for cost validation

-Perform administrative functions as requested by program team (meeting setup, material orders, timekeeping, expense reports, filing etc)

-Data entry and invoice reconciliation to appropriate projects

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

-Must be at least 18 years of age

-Must possess a High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience

-Ability to lift 50 pounds and push/pull 500 pounds on a cart a minimum of one time a day

-Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours a day

-Ability to type up to 20 percent of working time

-Ability to enter data or information into an electronic database as needed to perform at the job level

-Ability to prepare, maintain, and develop documents as needed to perform at the job level

 

Desired Qualifications:

-1+ years in-person customer service experience

-Current or previous PG&E employee

-Current or previous Hiring Hall

-Previous mailroom (or distribution) experience

-Ordering supplies and tracking/receipt/delivery/distribution

-Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office products suite, outlook, word, and excel

-Comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions

-Strong attention to detail

-Possess communication skills, both written and verbal

-Perform simple/ repetitive tasks

-Organize tasks and set priorities

-Manage multiple tasks simultaneously

-Use basic problem-solving techniques

-Work autonomously, or with minimal supervision
