Department Overview

The Coworkers of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.

 

Position Summary

Manages a team responsible for the safe and on-time completion of construction and improvement projects, establishing and monitoring operational budget. Leads the team to identify contract worthy projects, consults on project feasibility and project site details, coordinates with construction crews, oversees project inspectors, and on a project-specific basis performs construction oversight. Ensure projects are completed per PG&E standards, engineering design, regulatory agencies guidelines, permits and schedule.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  

 

We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
 

A reasonable salary range is:​

 

Annual Minimum:  $136,000.00

Annual Maximum: $232,000.00         

 

 Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures maintenance and construction work in assigned area is completed on time, within budget and quality expectations while adhering to safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversees projects contracted to vendors and associated work inspections.
  • Ensures contractor personnel comply with company safety standards with all laws, regulations, policies and bulletins.
  • Ensures optimal resources are identified and mobilized to efficiently execute the annual work plan.
  • Partners with peers, staff departments, matrix organizations and outside agencies to improve overall business results.
  • Collaborates with leaders, other LOBs, and business partners to work on issues, projects or activities.
  • Ensures coordination and availability of data and resources for successful completion and support of all work.
  • Manages project portfolios to allow cross-prioritization of projects for budget forecasting purposes; ensure projects are strategically aligned, and ensures projects stay on track.
  • Collaborates with others to identify, analyze and improve existing business processes within a department to meet new goals and objectives.
  • Supervises staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and rewards and recognition.
  • Participates in reviewing vendor proposals to select key service providers and partners.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree in Construction Management , Civil Engineering or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Eight (8) years of relevant experience in Construction or related field
