Position Summary

To obtain and maintain employment, you must be able to pass: a drug and alcohol screen, a security background check for unescorted access to a nuclear plant, a psychological screen, and be subject to random drug and alcohol screening in fulfilment of federal requirements. 

The engineering intern will work within a program engineering group with responsibilities to monitor, trend and improve plant performance in their discipline, complete a specific project, and support other job functions within the assigned engineering group.    

 

The successful intern will have the opportunity to lead and/or support activities as described above working with a team of experienced Engineers and Leaders.  Additionally, the intern will gain knowledge of the larger nuclear plant operations and organization through the work they will be performing.

 

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

 

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $24.52 to $35.37

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earning a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering
  • Students must be continuing education towards degree during and/or after the internship 

Desired:

  • EIT or FE certification
  • 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
  • Engineering experience in utilities, municipalities, construction, National Labs or engineering consultation
  • Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills 
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
