Position Summary

The DCPP Maintenance department support DCPP’s mission by ensuring our plant is properly maintained by a proficient staff of qualified professionals.  We strive to provide exemplary service with the objective of ensuring a safe and reliable plant by providing the right maintenance or construction at the right time.

DCPP Maintenance Department is looking for talented summer interns to help support the development and implementation of innovative initiatives, including assisting in creation of visual management and other performance monitoring tools leveraging a variety of data sources. This could include leveraging Artificial Intelligence, Microsoft BI, SAP, Syntempo (schedule software), and other software to aid the Maintenance organization.

 

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $19.91 to $35.37.

 

Responsibilities

  • Refine or create visual management leveraging tools like AI and Microsoft BI to effectively assist the organization in monitoring performance
  • Collaborate to provide innovative ways to provide access to a broader suite of material and tools for the organization through leveraging of Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, or other tools.
  • Provide problem solving to assist the maintenance organization in executing solutions for providing information on daily work in an easy-to-use way.
  • Collaborate on process mapping initiatives to aid in potential waste elimination opportunities.

 

The successful intern will have the opportunity to lead and/or support activities as described above working with experienced nuclear maintenance professionals.  Additionally, the intern will gain insight and knowledge of the larger DCPP organization through the work they will be performing.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration/Management or related technical field at an accredited University
  • Students must be continuing their education towards their degree during and/or after the internship

Desired:

  • EIT or FE certification
  • 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
  • Computer Science experience in utilities, municipalities, construction, or consultation
  • Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills 
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
