Department Overview

 

Power Generation operates and maintains PG&E's hydroelectric, fossil, solar generation and battery storage facilities, providing approximately 5,300 megawatts of generating capacity for our customers. Our nearly 1000 coworkers are dedicated to delivering safe, reliable and cost-effective generation to California in an environmentally responsible manner. Our hydro facilities include 62 conventional hydro powerhouses, a pumped-storage facility, 98 reservoirs, 168 dams and more than 200 miles of canals and flumes, among other water conveyances. Natural gas-fired plants in operation are Humboldt Bay Generating Station in Eureka; Colusa Generating Station in Colusa County and Gateway Generating Station in Antioch. Several utility-scale solar generation plants also are operated and maintained, as well as PG&E’s successful entry into battery energy storage, our Elkhorn Battery facility at Moss Landing in Monterey County.

 

Position Summary

 

 

Power Generation O&M Support Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced O&M Maintenance Program Manager, Expert, to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for standardizing processes and procedures across PG&E’s power generation facilities, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. You will support a team of maintenance professionals, develop, and implement maintenance programs, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

 

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum: $​122,000

Bay Area Maximum: $​194,000

&/OR​

California Minimum: $​116,000

California Maximum: $​184,000

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Support and define end-to-end programs that mitigate operational risk and focus on continuous improvement in safe operation and maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical support, training, and guidance to a skilled workforce.
  • Identify and prioritize missing and necessary operational procedures and aids by criticality.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive maintenance programs for power generation facilities.
  • Support a team of maintenance professionals.
  • Identify and develop recommendations for process improvements, execute corrective action plans, and implement management of change.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain metrics and program status summaries for leadership briefs.
  • Monitor and analyze equipment performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide guidance and technical interface with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Construction, and Asset Management teams.
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure desired program capital strategies.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies by priority

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum:

 

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 8 years

 

Desired:

 

  • Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) or Reliability Leader
  • Utility, energy, or regulatory industry experience.
  • Broad understanding of the utility or energy industry drivers, issues and trends.
  • Advanced knowledge of long-term strategic resource/operational planning theories, concepts, practices, methods and techniques.
  • Advanced data analysis, benchmarking, monitoring and business/financial analysis skills including knowledge of varied analytical methods.
  • Expert analytical problem solving and decision-making skills to develop comprehensive solutions.
  • Advanced oral and written communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills. Adaptable to changing business conditions and ambiguity.
  • Broad expertise in business and work planning processes. (e.g., Units, Maintenance Activity Type (MAT) Codes, Provider Cost Center (PCC) Codes, dates, activities, systems, etc.).
  • Effectively gains buy-in from leaders inside and outside of the department.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Project, Visio, PowerBI
