Department Overview

The Commercial Growth Organization (CGO) is dedicated to accelerating strategic, rate-reducing growth for PG&E, with a focus on driving data center growth, electrification, and economic development. With electricity demand expected to double over the next 15 years, we’re building an energy system of the future for the world’s fourth-largest economy. This team sits within the Strategy and Growth line of business, which includes Energy Policy and Procurement, Strategy and Innovation, and Integrated Long-Term Planning.

Position Summary

PG&E is seeking a Product Owner to develop, test, and validate the next generation of flexible load businesses that accelerate speed-to-power. This role sits between strategy and commercialization, turning promising concepts into real-world products that generate actionable customer, operational, and commercial learning.

The Product Owner will be the commercial lead from concept validation through execution, managing cross-functional teams, customer engagement, experimentation and learning, success metrics, and reporting. Success in this role is measured not by launching products, but by generating decision-quality evidence that enables PG&E to confidently scale, modify, or stop investments.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys building from scratch, and can balance customer needs, utility operations, technical constraints, and business outcomes.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The work location is Oakland, CA.

PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position.  The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location.  The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum to the midpoint of the range.  The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
