Department Overview

 

The hardworking coworkers of Electric Engineering ensure all manners of electric engineering—including electric standards and process safety, electric design engineering, instrumentation testing and controls, undergrounding, electric regulatory compliance and electric investment planning—are in place to safely enable a strategic and stable workplan for our Electric Operations partners. Our organization is accountable for program planning, financial budgeting, and project execution and delivery of all electric engineering projects. Electric Engineering is comprised of approximately 2,000 coworkers.

 

Position Summary

 

This position is represented by Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC), subject to collective bargaining.

 

This role is responsible for performing a comprehensive range of advanced-level duties. Assignments typically require a high degree of expertise, independent judgment, and decision-making. The position often involves providing guidance, mentorship, or oversight to employees in lower classifications. A significant level of autonomy is expected in carrying out responsibilities, with minimal supervision.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

 

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreement, and internal equity.

 

Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, the hourly rate range for this position is $59.44 to $65.81, subject to collectively bargained wage increases.​

 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Generates performance metrics reports and maintains various databases including contract labor hours for several LOBs, contracts and invoice tracking dashboards, contractor performance metrics, work schedules, and other contractor metric requirements.
  • Processes, monitors and analyzes engineering department financial and job tracking data such as procurement requests, change orders, invoices. Use spreadsheets and databases to produce reports and charts. Leads contract management and ensures that the approval process is consistent with company policy.
  • Establishes and maintains data collection and reporting systems for department metrics and goals. Functions as department point of contact for software system upgrades. Contributes to the development of work procedures and training manuals and guidelines.
  • Acts as a guide and mentor to other Engineering Assistants.

 

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum:

  • BA or BS Degree in business, finance or engineering, or its equivalent in experience and education.
  • 3 years of experience in the engineering field and applied knowledge of engineering, accounting and procurement practices

 

Desired:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Thorough knowledge of tracking engineering process milestones (Clarity, SAP, and p6).
  • Experience in creating processes and tracking process control
