Department Overview

 

Power Generation operates and maintains PG&E's hydroelectric, fossil, solar generation, and battery storage facilities, providing approximately 5,300 megawatts of generating capacity for our customers. Our nearly 900 coworkers are dedicated to delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective generation to California in an environmentally responsible manner. Our hydro facilities include 62 conventional hydro powerhouses, a pumped-storage facility, 98 reservoirs, 168 dams and more than 200 miles of canals and flumes, among other water conveyances. Natural gas-fired plants in operation are Humboldt Bay Generating Station in Eureka; Colusa Generating Station in Colusa County and Gateway Generating Station in Antioch. Several utility-scale solar generation plants also are operated and maintained, as well as PG&E’s successful entry into battery energy storage, our Elkhorn Battery facility at Moss Landing in Monterey County.

 

Position Summary

 

Manages contracts with various partners and entities. Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure timely deployment of projects and facilitate the resolution of engineering, operating, planning and policy issues relating to projects. Develops and maintains documentation for policies and procedures; ensures effective and sustainable controls are in place to meet compliance requirement. Acts as subject matter expert on the assigned contracts and coordinates legal and regulatory contract and reporting issues.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and assigned location, subject to change per business needs.

 

This position is flexible within Shaver Lake/Helms and Auberry. Headquarters will be agreed upon by the successful candidate and hiring leader.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

A reasonable salary range is:

 

Minimum Base Salary (California)           $ 123,000.00

Maximum Base Salary (California)          $ 197,000.00

 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Actively supports the development of regulatory policies and takes part in the regulatory proceedings related to third- parties for the Customer Care organization.
  • Drives development of new contract, policies, and practices.
  • Leads the most complex cross-functional projects and contracts.
  • Provides active guidance, support, mentorship and training for less experienced contract managers.
  • Provides critical operational perspective in the development of business and strategies; advocates/presents operational issues for consideration.
  • Works closely with senior leadership (both internal and external) on utility and business strategies and communications around industry changes and trends that could negatively affect customers.
  • Provides timely information that employees need to do their jobs.
  • Trains team members on policy and complex contract issues.
  • Manages the process to ensure compliance with contract and tariff requirements.
  • Negotiates the most complex policy issues independently.
  • May handle at least one of the most complex Agreements or Contracts.
  • Handles special research projects for the section.
  • Manages accounting, financial and cash flow or policy and contract development processes.
  • Travel throughout service territory

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering or related degree; or equivalent work experience
  • 8 years of related work experience

 

Desired:

 

  • MS degree desired
  • Expert on Contract Management and customer service
  • Extensive and unique knowledge of the PG&E systems, operational processes, and pertinent involving a wide range of third-party contracts, processes, and customers/stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive and unique understanding of systems and tools to keep internal and external stakeholders informed on critical contract issues
  • Forward thinking; can anticipate future consequences accurately
  • Ability to manage conflict constructively with a win-win resolution in mind
  • Ability to lead process improvement initiatives
  • Ability to lead a cross-functional project team
  • Ability to interact with and present to senior management (internally and externally)
