Organization Overview

The men and women of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E’s electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.

 

Within Electric Operations, Major Projects and Programs is responsible for designing, project managing, and constructing large distribution and transmission capital electrical projects and programs; including reliability, capacity, and system hardening.

 

Position Summary

Prepares plans and schedules for work and resources by incorporating target financial objectives, the total maintenance and construction needs for the region and known resource constraints. The individual will improve Electric Operations Construction Management resource planning infrastructure and capabilities.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures effective work & resource planning and scheduling for the service territory.
  • Enforces resource alignment with funded workplan.
  • Manages assignment of executable work to General Construction and Contract Resources through a funded workplan or work intake from Division resources.
  • Oversees resource change management process factoring in resource capacity and scheduling restrictions.
  • Collaborates with peers, including scheduling, General Construction, contract construction vendors, project management and portfolio management to work on issues, and coordinate resource process.
  • Communicates resource status with other departments to ensure reliability and customer service.
  • Ensures work in assigned area is completed on time, within budget and quality expectations while adhering to safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintains comprehensive network of internal and external resources to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Supervises staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and rewards and recognition.
  • Leads the team's day-to-day operations in support of the team.
  • Builds efficient construction schedules to ensure the effective utilization of available resources. Validates that work plan hours and units are completed and correctly reported.

  • Oversees pre-arranged overtime (POT) and emergency overtime (EOT) required documentation for clerical and construction resources. Monitors PCC charging for accuracy.
  • Leads tool and/or process improvements for continuous improvement within organization and for partner organizational business needs
  • Partners with superintendents, peers, staff departments, matrix organizations and outside agencies to improve overall business results.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Electric Operations, Scheduling or Resource Management, or other job-related field.
  • Occasional travel availability.
