Department Overview 

The Enterprise Safety and Compliance Training Delivery Team is a dynamic group within PG&E Academy that focuses on improving employee safety practices and skills competency by delivering training that addresses corporate and regulatory safety and compliance requirements.  We are seeking team members who can partner with team lead across the organization to ensure the right people receive the right training at the right time. Position Summary 

PG&E Academy Enterprise Safety and Compliance Training is looking for a Training Delivery Supervisor to oversee safety and compliance training delivery to employees across the organization. The successful candidate will work closely with our delivery operations team, work team leads, curriculum team, Corporate Safety and selected safety industry training vendors to ensure our employees receive the highest quality training in the most professional manner.

 

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of successfully leading a diverse team, possess excellent communication skills, solid organizational skills, be adaptable to changing priorities, have a strong work ethic, a sense of commitment, and a demonstrated ability to overcome preset biases, build relationships, and gain trust. 

 

Due to our current landscape, this position will work from a home office (must reside within the PG&E service territory), with 35% travel in the field as business needs require.  

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead a staff of learning and development specialists.
  • Develops and builds a high performing team by setting goals, developing and managing work resources, and ensuring the team has adequate tools, training and technology to successfully perform their jobs.
  • Partner with Safety, Compliance, Environmental and other internal and external stakeholders to deliver training solutions that meet regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Develop and maintain effective safety and compliance training vendor relationships, establish contracts, service agreements, statements of work execution, and delivery expectations
  • Establish and optimize both public and private delivery schedules to support training timeliness, business continuity and delivery efficiencies across all organizations within budget.
  • Drive improvements in the quality and consistency of learning solutions by leveraging prepared curriculum, regular classroom and training field observations, review of training feedback, quarterly key learnings meetings with vendors, and the development and execution of action plans to close gaps.
  • Manage expense budgets and promote efficient spending practices.  Work effectively to maintain capital funding budgets as assigned.  Support Academy reporting requirements.
  • Actively participate in Academy leadership meetings, initiatives, and support for Academy goals.

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School or General Educational Development (GED) Diploma
  • 5 years’ experience working as a technical trainer for a utility company (or other regulated company) or 10+ years job related experience in technical training.
  • Technical Training Certification (CompTIA) or equivalent required

 
Desired:

  • Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local safety regulations, laws and standards (i.e.; OSHA, DOT, ANSI, NFPA) – as needed to perform at the job level
  • Certifications not required, but a plus: Competent person training or experience in Fall Protection, Confined Space, PPE, Scaffolding and/or CPR instructor
  • Understanding of the Utility business environment and leadership philosophy, concepts and best practices
  • Experience with MS Office 365, Word, Excel, Power Point, Power BI, SAP
