Position Summary
Manages a team executing the Cross Bore Prevention Field Support task in direct support of both Gas & Electric construction at PG&E. Manages teams directly or indirectly involved in operations & maintenance of the gas transmission and distribution system including completing all unplanned, emergent work and all mandated program work. Oversees personnel performing field coordination, field oversight and quality assurance of Cross Bore vendors, and interfacing with our stakeholder groups.
This position is a DOT (Department of Transportation) covered classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol screening.
This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
California Minimum: $ 120,000.00
California Maximum: $ 190,000.00
Job Responsibilities
- Communicates business goals and objectives to the work group and holds all accountable to same.
- Completes and maintains all work documentation and/or reporting.
- Develops the business knowledge and technical skills of all field employees. Fosters teamwork within work group and across all company functions.
- Ensures all associated paperwork and work packages are accurate.
- Ensures compliance of: 1) record keeping 2) adherence to cross bore inspection standards TD-4632P-01, TD-4632P-02, and TD-4632P-03.
- Ensures mandated compliance dates and regulations are met.
- Ensures that customers' needs and expectations are met; ensures clear, professional, proactive communication with customers and stakeholder groups.
- Ensures that work is executed safely including personal and public safety metrics.
- Ensures work is executed within scope, schedule and cost expectations
- Facilitates weekly team meetings/tailboards and adjunct training as needed.
- Fully implements and holds subordinates accountable for safety best practices and adherence to the safety accountability model. Ensures full compliance with the Injury & Illness Prevention Program, working closely with area Safety Program Coordinators.
- Identifies and pursues productivity improvements and implements work practices to reduce operating costs while meeting corporate and regulatory compliance.
- Co-leads root-cause investigations on all Cross Bores created and/or reportable events.
- Manages emergency responses to all requests including cross bores found, ensuring employees respond in a timely manner and provide total quality service.
- Monitors compliance to standards and specifications, to achieve high quality work the first time done. Develops action plans to address deficiencies in process or employee skill/knowledge and tracks the progress of those plans.
- Oversees both projects and 2nd party contracting within the area of responsibility
- Reviews all department maintenance documents for accuracy and completeness prior to filing for future reference or for audit purposes.
- Serves customers by providing timely completion of Cross Bore Prevention work.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
- 5 Years of relevant experience. Relevant experience may include exposure to utility, maintenance, construction, operations, logistics or service planning work.
- CA Driver’s License
- Subject to random DOT drug and alcohol testing
- Requires regular travel to projects and to visit employees in the field within assigned geographic area.
- Stands on and conducts emergency on- call; works unusual hours in emergency situations.
Desired:
- Experience managing or executing tasks related to Cross Bore Prevention or underground construction.
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
