Department Overview

Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. As a whole, Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E’s gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response.

 

Gas Transmission Operations is responsible for maintaining over 6,000 miles of gas transmission pipelines throughout California. This Department is responsible for the overall administration and implementation of the Transmission Integrity Management Program and the evaluation of overall risk to the gas transmission system. This includes overseeing the completion of integrity management assessments, identifying High Consequence Areas (HCA), maintaining PG&E's assessment plan as required by 49 CFR Subpart O, and managing PG&E's overall gas risk management program.

 

Position Summary

Manages and/or administers one or more company programs. Provides oversight, governance, communication, training, reporting as well as having oversight for the overall process and project management for the assigned program(s). Manages the program budget, which may include developing and presenting the budget proposal.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory (San Ramon).

 

Position will require approximately 10% of travel time in work schedule.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum:$102,000

Bay Area Maximum: $162,000

 

 

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

 

 

 

Job Responsibilities

•           Applies advanced knowledge of Program Management to moderate to complex assignments and established programs. Works independently on most issues.  Receives guidance from manager. May participate in the development of new programs.

•           Manage programs, monitor and track work to ensure timeliness, quality and overall program budget.

•           Collaborates with Investment Planning, Distribution Integrity Management, Project Services/PMO, Operations, Construction, Division Engineering and others to

           Develop and implement new or improved processes, controls and procedures to improve program compliance, efficiencies and customer satisfaction.

           Develop, analyze and update current and future work plans and schedules in SAP and other tools to reallocate resources or reprioritize program work.

•           Conducts project plan review meetings and project coordination meetings, issues meeting minutes and ensures resolution of identified issues

•           Monitors execution of work from initiation to closure to ensure units and unit cost is attained.

•           Monitors and manages financial and work management data related to assigned programs in SAP and related tools to ensure accuracy.

•           Develops annual productivity targets. Perform trend analysis, to identify issues with costs or productivity.

•           Conducts benchmarking and best practice reviews for engineering & design.

•           Develops recommendations for improvements to tools and processes and associated training to improve productivity and reduce operation costs. Leads the implementation of best practices and department reliability and affordability team.

•           Develops and implements communication and training for assigned programs to target audience

•           Prepares reports, status updates, variance explanations and budget recommendations. Makes presentations to manager and/or key program stakeholders.

•           Ensures ongoing regulatory compliance with the program.

•           Develops responses to program-related data requests.

•           Assists with GRC testimony research related to the program.

 

 

Qualifications-

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years total related experience
  • SAP experience
  • Project or program management experience

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification
  • Experience in Gas utility maintenance and construction. 5 years engineering experience.
