Position Summary

 

The Constraints Management Team is responsible for improving how Vegetation Management completes work impacted by dependencies (i.e. Permitting, Customer Interferences, Environmental Review).  This role will be responsible for leading a team who supports all Constraints Management data management, analytics, and reporting activities.  The Operations Data Analyst extracts operations data for analysis, leadership support, and responses to ad hoc data requests. The incumbent maintains operations tools & databases, ensuring that they are kept up to date using data from various PG&E systems. They develop, maintain, and enhance operational metric database tools for the broader analytics team(s). The Analyst identifies and addresses current gaps in data requirements and ease of access to ensure fast, consistent responses to leadership inquiries.

 

•    PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Manages data management projects from initial request to presenting data results, ensuring that the project is completed within budget and on time.
•    DATA PROCESSING: Creates automated data routines and processes for reporting and data delivery, ensuring accurate data manipulation and data cleansing.
•    DATA EXTRACTS AND FILE TRANSFERS: Manages extracting data and transferring the data from databases to various analysts to support operational analysis efforts.
•    DATA ANALYSIS: Analyzes data using various statistical tools to develop ad hoc reports, statistics, trends, and profiles.
•    REPORTING: Develops and communicates clear, concise, and actionable data analyses for clients.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company, in good faith, believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $105,000
Bay Area Mid-Point: $137,000
Bay Area Maximum: $169,000
&/OR
California Minimum: $100,000
California Mid-Point: $130,000
California Maximum: $161,000
This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
This position is hybrid. You will work from your remote office and your assigned location based on business needs. The headquarters location is flexible within the PG&E service territory.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

•    Manages complex data analysis projects with limited supervision from initial request to presenting data results, ensuring that the project is completed within budget and on time.
•    Designs data analysis to achieve business objectives, processes data, analyzes data, writes clear and concise data findings, and tailors communications to specific audiences. Analyzes data using various statistical tools to develop ad hoc reports, statistics, trends, and profiles.
•    Manages complex data extracts and list pulls, ensuring data accuracy. Manages the extraction of data and transfers the data from databases to various analysts to support operational analysis efforts
•    Creates complex automated data routines and processes for reporting and data delivery, ensuring accurate data manipulation and data cleansing.
•    Demonstrates and utilizes advanced knowledge of data processing and data analysis techniques.
•    Develops and communicates clear, concise, and actionable data analyses for clients.
•    Provides recommendations to enhance database(s) with new data sources and improved data processes.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

•    BA/BS Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related field, or equivalent work experience
•    4 years of related work experience

 

Desired:

 

•    Advanced skill in writing SQL queries using SQL Server or SnowSQL
•    Familiarity with entire Power Platforms Suite (PowerBI, PowerApps, PowerAutomate, Excel (VBA), Sharepoint, etc.)"
•    Advanced knowledge and working experience with Python
•    Familiarity with utility operations. 
•    Strong organizational skills, ability to effectively prioritize work, meet deadlines, and work on multiple tasks independently.
•    Good communication and presentation skills to deliver findings and make recommendations to stakeholders.
•    Project management skills.
•    Solid knowledge of base-SAS and programming languages such as Visual Basic, Perl, C
