Department Overview

 

The team of Gas Engineering ensures the delivery of safe and reliable gas service to our customers. Gas Engineering is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's gas distribution, transmission and storage including planning, engineering, asset management, risk assessment, business planning, documentation and emergency response. Gas Facilities and Storage Engineering oversees the engineering, reliability, and compliance of PG&E’s gas facilities and storage assets, supporting safe operations, regulatory requirements, and long term system performance. The Reservoir Engineering department is comprised of the following functions: reservoir engineering and well integrity management, project planning and execution, and asset management for PG&E’s underground gas storage. The department is responsible for overall storage asset management including well design, maintenance, inspection, replacement and retirement. The Facility Integrity Management Program department identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks in order to reduce both the likelihood and consequences of gas transmission facility incidents. Gas Quality and Measurement Engineering group provides support and guidance to stakeholders and developing and implementing integrity related programs. Station Services provides field focused engineering and technical support for gas stations and compressor facilities, supporting day to day operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, start up and commissioning, emergency response, and capital projects to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient asset performance.

 

Position Summary


Supports the Senior Director and Storage Managers in all aspects of Storage responsibilities (including but not limited to):
•    Act as a liaison for the storage department with regulatory agencies (CalGEM & CPUC), including understanding of regulatory filings, supporting GRC activities, risk models, and capital accounting.
•    Drive Lean, Breakthrough, and process improvement across all Storage teams.
•    Manage and support key programmatic work across Storage teams and strategic regulatory initiatives related to Storage.
•    Provides leadership and expertise in developing new guidelines and polices related to Storage and regulatory evolutions within the storage department and stakeholder teams.
•    Lead teams on complex projects related to storage with the high financial or business impact.

 

Position may require a valid California driver's license on day one of employment.
 

Position requires approximately- less than 10% travel time in work schedule.
 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory (San Ramon). 
 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
 

A reasonable salary range is:
 

Bay Area Minimum:$147,000
Bay Area Maximum:$251,000
 

 
This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Qualifications-
 
Minimum Qualifications: 
•    BS Engineering or equivalent experience
•    Ten (10) years of relevant experience
Desired Qualifications:
•    Gas transmission or distribution experience with design, maintenance, construction and/or operations
o    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Desired
o    Expert communication, presentation skills
o    Ability to organize and present information and recommendations to Officers and Directors
o    Ability to lead cross functional project teams for projects (high degree of project complexity, matrix implementation, etc.)
o    Authoritative Knowledge of applicable engineering principles, codes, regulations, policies and procedures related to the industry and PG&E
o    Ability to build relationship and influence actions, decisions, accountabilities and outcomes across functions
o    Ability think and act strategically
o    Ability to develop and implement strategy
